1.12.12 MEN'S SOCCER: Truax Selected to CoSIDA Capital One Academic Team

Walsh University senior Ben Truax (Mansfield, OH/St. Peters) has been selected to the CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District Men’s Soccer Team.  CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) began this program in the 1950's, and since then, has honored thousands of deserving student-athletes from numerous sports and across all divisions with these elite Capital One Academic All-America® scholar-athlete honors. Currently, CoSIDA honors Academic All-Americans in 12 sports.

Truax is an accounting major a carries a 3.525 grade point average.  He was also named as an American Mideast Conference Scholar-Athlete and to the All-Ohio Academic Team.
 
He was also named All-Ohio First-Team for the NCAA Division II/NAIA category and first team All-AMC and AMC Player of the Year. Truax had a record-setting season that saw him score 20 goals and five assists to become the school’s all-time goals scored leader with 51 and all-time points’ leader with 119.
