1.14.14 MEN'S BASKETBALL: Cavs Receive Votes In Latest Poll

(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) – Walsh is receiving votes once again in the NABC/Division II Men’s Basketball Top 25 Poll. The Cavaliers (10-2, 6-2) received nine votes in the most recent poll released today. Lake Superior State (15-1, 7-1) and Michigan Tech (9-3, 5-3) are the other GLIAC teams represented. The Lakers stand at No. 17, six spots up from last week’s rankings. The Huskies join Walsh in the receiving votes category with three.

The Cavs are on a five-game win streak and most recently defeated Grand Valley State 75-66 and Ferris State 94-71. Walsh will be on the road for his week’s conference games at Ashland and Lake Erie.

Walsh is tied with two other schools as both Cal Poly Pomona and Southern Connecticut State received nine votes from the NABC.

The weekly poll is being conducted by 16 members of the NABC, two representing each of the eight NCAA Division II regions.

All records are through games of Sunday, Jan. 12. The next poll will be released on Tuesday, Jan. 21.
