1.23.12 MEN'S BASKETBALL: Ron Kinney AMC Player of the Week

Walsh University senior Ron Kinney (6-7, Cleveland, OH/Rhodes) has been named the American Mideast Conference Player of the Week for games played on Jan. 16-22.

Kinney averaged 21.3 points, shot 55% from the field, and 70% from three-point in three Walsh wins. 

Ron opened the week with a 17-point effort in a 76-51 win over Daemen College.  He was 3-5 from three-point.  On Thursday he scored 29 points on 9-14 field goals, 7-8 from three-point, in a 99-94 come-from-behind win over rival  Malone.  Kinney closed the week with an 18-point effort in a 73-72 win over Cedarville University.

Walsh stands 17-3 overall and 6-1 in the AMC.  The Cavs are at Wilberforce University on Tuesday and are home to Houghton College on Saturday.
