1.26.13 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Hillsdale Charges Past Cavs

Walsh was able to hang with Hillsdale for most of the game, but the Chargers lived up to their nickname and pulled ahead in the last 10 minutes to win 83-67. The Cavaliers fall to 6-11 overall and 3-10 in the GLIAC. Hillsdale improves to 7-10 overall and 4-10 in the conference.
The Cavs last held the lead at 55-54 following a Maggie Berry (Jr., 6-0, Cleveland, OH/St. Joseph) jumper with 10:23 remaining in the game. From there, the Chargers went on a 13-1 run to take control of the game. Hillsdale led by double-digits for the remainder of the game.
Tracy Payne (Sr., 5-5, Painesville, OH/HS/Notre Dame College) paced the Cavaliers with 18 points after making 7-of-19 from the field. Berry finished with 12 points and three steals.
Walsh will look to regroup as they take on neighboring Malone for rivalry week in the GLIAC. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. and will be broadcast on WNPQ.
