Walsh (18-4, 7-2) halted a modest one-game losing streak with a 104-67 American Mideast Conference win over visiting Houghton College (7-13, 0-7).  The Cavs have not lost back-to-back games since 2006-07.  Walsh is now idle until next Saturday, when they host Akron Wayne College at 4 pm.

Walsh trailed only once, at 3-2, and built at 44-25 halftime lead.  Ron Kinney (6-7, Sr., Cleveland, OH/Rhodes) paced the Cavs with 10 first half points, as they shot 52% from the floor and 50% (7-14) from three-point range.

The second half was all Walsh, as they shot 60% (21-35) and outscored the Highlanders 60-42.  The half was highlighted by two tomahawk dunks from Cameron Mitchell (6-4, So., Cincinnati, OH/Taft) and one from Kinney. 

Walsh placed five players in double figures led by Kinney’s 22 points.  Brad DuPont (6-0, So., Massillon, OH/Jackson/Wheeling Jesuit) chipped in 18 points, 10 assists and six steals.  DuPont was 4-4 from three-point.  He is averaging 8.8 assists per game.  L. J. Sutton (6-7, Sr., Youngstown, OH/Cardinal Mooney) added 15 points and four steals and Mitchell also had 15 points.  Rian Burrell (6-3, Fr., Zanesville, OH/HS) added 12 points. 

Houghton’s Mike Munoz led all scorers with 34 points.
