1.29.14 MEN'S BASKETBALL: Cavs and Findlay Square on Thursday

Walsh (12-3, 8-3) travels to the University of Findlay (13-3, 9-3) to meet the Oilers in a GLIAC South Division game on Thursday (8 pm). The Cavs are in second place, one-half game back of UF. The Cavs have been idle since last Thursday, after last Saturday’s GLIAC South game at Tiffin University was postponed due hazardous travel conditions. The game will be played on Saturday, March 1. Walsh returns to Alumni Arena on Saturday to meet Hillsdale College in a GLIAC encounter at 3 pm. Both games will be broadcast live on WNPQ FM 95.9.

YOUNG TIES LOY: On the strength of a 26-0 run, Walsh defeated Ohio Dominican University (4-11, 2-9) 82-54 last Thursday. The victory was career win number 254 for head coach Jeff Young (254-55, 10th yr.), tying him with Steve Loy (254-130, 12 yrs.) for the most wins in Walsh coaching history. Walsh led 28-23 with 5:16 to play in the first half, when they closed the half with a 16-0 run to lead 44-23 at the break. The Cavs would then score the first 10 points of the second half to increase their lead to 54-23.
