1.3.14 MEN'S BASKETBALL: First Place Cavs Host Hillsdale on Saturday

Walsh (13-3, 9-3) regained sole possession of first place in the GLIAC South after defeating the University of Findlay 81-61 on Thursday night in Findlay. The Cavs now return home to start a four-game homestand with (Hillsdale College 13-4, 9-4) on Saturday. The homestand is the longest of the year for the Cavs, who host Malone on Monday (7:30 pm), Ohio Dominican next Thursday (7:30 pm) and Lake Erie next Saturday (3 pm). All games will be broadcast live on WNPQ 95.9 FM and streamed live on TEAMLINE.

YOUNG PASSES LOY; CAVS HAND OILERS RARE HOME LOSS: In one of Walsh’s finest road victories in the history of the program, the Cavs stunned the University of Findlay 81-61 at the Croy Gymnasium on Thursday. The loss was just the sixth at home for the Oilers in the last 11 years, and just their second GLIAC home loss in the last 94 regular season games. The victory was career win number 255 for head coach Jeff Young (255-55, 10th yr.), passing Steve Loy (254-130, 12 yrs.) for the most wins in Walsh coaching history.
