1.30.12 MEN'S TRACK AND FIELD: Jordan Groubert Continues to Improve

(Geneva, Ohio) - The SPIRE Midwest Track and Field Open took place over the weekend with Walsh sending both men and women representatives to compete in the large event. Some events had close to 100 people participating.

Jordan Groubert (Jr., Hartville, OH/Lake), MVP of the cross country team from the fall, has been improving during the indoor portion of the season. At the SPIRE Invite, Groubert lowered his personal best from nine minutes even to an impressive 8:49.99 in the 3000 meter run. That was good enough for a 14th place finish in a 50-racer field. That time equates to a 9:29.05 3,200 meter run, which matches the personal best of his younger brother and Walsh teammate freshman Justin Groubert.
