1.6.12 MEN'S SOCCER: Five Placed on All-Ohio Team

Five Walsh Cavaliers from the men’s soccer team were recently named to the Ohio Coaches Soccer Association. Ben Truax (Sr., 6-1, Mansfield, OH/St. Peters) headlines the list after leading the team to a conference championship and an overall record of 15-5.
Truax was the lone Cavaliers’ player to be named to the All-Ohio First Team for the NCAA Division II/NAIA category. He was also named to the All-Ohio Academic Team. Truax had a record-setting season that saw him score 20 goals and five assists to become the school’s all-time goals scored leader with 51 and all-time points leader with 119.
Ben Latimer (Sr., 5-11, Sunbury, OH/Big Walnut) and Adam Greenwood (Jr., 5-11, Blackpool, England/Lytham St. Annes) were named to the All-Ohio Second Team. Latimer played and started in 19 games this season and made assists on five goals. Greenwood, who also started in 19 games, scored two goals and eight assists on the year for 12 points.
Joining Truax on the All-Ohio Academic Team were Clint Merck (Sr., 6-0, Randolph, OH/St. Thomas Aquinas) and Matt Bly (Jr., 5-10, Bellbrook, OH/HS). Merck played and started in 19 games this season and scored a goal and an assist. Bly was one of the Cavs’ offensive threats with four goals scored and five assists made.
