1.6.12 WOMEN'S SOCCER: Six Named to OCSA All-Ohio

The Ohio Coaches Soccer Association has released the 2011 All-Ohio Teams and the Walsh Cavaliers are well represented. The Cavs, who ended the 2011 season 13-5, placed three players on the All-Ohio First Team, five players on the All-Ohio Academic First Team, and one player on the All-Ohio Academic Second Team.

Headlining the All-Ohio First Team are Carley Adams (Jr., 5-8, Louisville, OH/HS), Molly Martin (Jr., 5-7, Canfield, OH/HS), and Kelly Sklenar (Jr., 5-3, Canfield, OH/Cardinal Mooney). All three also made the All-Ohio Academic First Team in addition to Lauren Jokovich (So., 5-4, Canton, OH/Jackson) and Gina Pinzone (Jr., 5-6, Cleveland, OH/Padua Franciscan). Erin Naumann (Jr., 5-1, Medina, OH/Highland) was named to the All-Ohio Academic Second Team.

Adams led the team in points (23) and goals (11). She has led or tied for the lead in goals scored for the past three seasons and was the first player that reached double-digits in goals since 2007. Martin was second on the team in goals scored with six and third on the team in points with 15. Sklenar helped the defense make nine shutouts on the year while also scoring a goal and an assist.

Jokovich was second on the team in points with 16 and fourth on the team with goals scored with four. Pinzone also scored four goals while adding four assists for 12 points. Naumann also helped on the backlines as a defender and scored one girl during the year.
