10.11.13 WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY: Cavs Place Seventh in Carnegie Mellon Invite

Women's Cross Country, 2013-10-12

(PITTSBURGH) - Walsh finished seventh in a field of 19 teams in the Carnegie Mellon Invitational at Schenley Park Saturday morning. Excluding club and alumni teams, the Cavaliers finished sixth in the team standings. The Cavs had a team score of 213. Wheeling Jesuit was sixth with a score of 170. Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Seton Hill tied for first with a score of 36.

Kelsey Dickey (Jr., Cortland, OH/Lakeview) led the pack of Cavaliers with a time of 19:15, good for 15th overall in a field of 193 runners. Kate Ryan (Jr., Alliance, OH/Marlington) followed up with a time of 20:28. Sarah Torok (Fr., Strongsville, OH/HS) was third for Walsh with a time of 20:36. Jill Bresnahan (Fr., Cleveland, OH/St. Joseph) and Annie Zaremba (Fr., Canton, OH/GlenOak) rounded out the top five with times with 21:11 and 21:31, respectively.

Walsh now has an off week before the big trip to the Upper Peninsula for the GLIAC Championships. That will take place on Saturday, Oct. 26, in Houghton, Mich.
