10.12.12 VOLLEYBALL: Cavs Fall Twice in Final Matches of GLVC/GLIAC Crossover

Women's Volleyball, 2012-10-13

(Aurora, IL) Walsh (6-11) lost twice at the GLVC/GLIAC crossover to finish the two-day event with a 1-2 mark.  The Cavs lost in five sets to McKendree College and were swept by UW-Parkside.

Walsh lost to McKendree College (9-12) by set scores of 25-22, 8-25, 25-21, 20-25 and 10-15.  Julianne O’Donnell (Sr., 5-10, Willowick, OH/Lake Catholic) led Walsh with 15 kills and a team-high 25 digs.   Devin Hummel (Fr., 5-8, Shelby, OH/HS) added 10 kills and 11 digs.  Krissy Sokol (Jr., 5-9, Akron, OH/Archbishop Hoban) had 9 kills and 13 digs and Hannah Duran (Sr., Elyria, OH/Midview) handed out 43 assists. 

UW-Parkside (15-6) bested the Cavs by the scores of 25-17, 25-13 and 25-20.  O’Donnell led Walsh with 11 kills and Duran dished out 26 assists.  Brittany Morris (Sr., 5-11, North Royalton, OH/Padua Franciscan) added 8 kills and Paige Chandler (Jr., 6-0, Cincinnati, OH/McNicholas) had 7.

The Cavs are back in GLIAC action next weekend when they travel to Lake Superior State on Friday (7 pm) and to Saginaw Valley State on Saturday (2 pm).
