10.12.13 WOMEN'S GOLF: Cavs Eighth After First Day of Bulldog Invite

(BIG RAPIDS, Mich.) - Walsh currently stands eighth out of 13 teams after the first day of the Ferris State Bulldog Invitational at Katke Golf Course. The Cavaliers shot a first round team score of 329, six strokes behind Ohio Dominican and Gannon who are tied for sixth place. Grand Valley State leads the field with a score of 303.

Jenny Tsangeos (Jr., Canton, OH/GlenOak) leads the Walsh squad with a first round score of 78 for six over par. In the individual standings she is tied for 12th with six other players and just a couple of strokes from being in the top 10.

Kayla Hardesty (So., Minerva, OH/Marlington) was second for the Cavs with a first round score of 80 and is tied for 22nd overall. Meghan Hatfield (So., North Canton, OH/Jackson) finished the day with an 85, Amanda Griffin (Jr., Tallmadge, OH/HS) shot an 86, Raven Venegas (Fr., Lima, OH/Shawnee) scored an 89, and Gina DePasquale (Fr., Hubbard, OH/HS) shot a 94 to round out the Maroon and Gold.

The Cavaliers will hit the links once again tomorrow to conclude the Bulldog Invitational.
