10.20.12 MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY: Cavs 10th; Justin Groubert 12th and Second Team Member at GLIAC Championships

In its inaugural year, Walsh (35-19) finished in 10thplace out of 15 teams at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships. The event was hosted by Northwood University. Grand Valley State University easily won the event with a team score of 29. Malone and Ashland tied for second with a score of 86.

Justin Groubert (So., Hartville, OH/Lake) narrowly missed being included in the top 10 individuals to cross the finish line, but did earn a 12th place finish with a time of 24:44. As a result, her earned a spot on the All-GLIAC Second Team. His brother Jordan Groubert (Sr., Hartville, OH/Lake) was the second Cavalier thin-clad to cross the finish line and placed 39th overall with a time of 25:34.

Rounding out the top five for Walsh were Jackson Zaremba (So., Canton, OH/GlenOak) in 54thplace with a time of 25:57, Justin Eddy (Jr., Perry, OH/HS) in 72nd place with a time of 26:34, and Matt Roshak (So., North Canton, OH/Hoover) in 79thplace with a time of 26:42.

Matt Thiessen (Fr., Navarre, OH/Perry) and Adam Stilgenbauer (Sr., New Philadelphia, OH/Tuskey Catholic) completed the team scoring. Thiessen finished with a time of 27:00, while Stilgenbauer clocked in 22 seconds later.

The Cavaliers will close out the season next weekend as they host the 5K Invitational. It is scheduled to start at 11 a.m.
