10.20.12 WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY: Cavs Finish 12th in First Trip to GLIAC Championships
Women's Cross Country, 2012-10-20
Walsh finished 12th out of 16 teams in its first trip to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Northwood University on Saturday. The Cavaliers (31-26) finished ahead of Michigan Tech, Ohio Dominican, Lake Erie, and Lake Superior State. Grand Valley State won the event with a team score of 25.
Lissa Yoder (Sr., Cortland, OH/Maplewood) was the top runner for Walsh as she finished 38th overall with a time of 22:39. Kelsey Dickey (So., Cortland, OH/Lakeview) followed with a time of 23:08 and was 61st overall. Rounding out the top five for the Cavaliers were Annie Wise (Fr., Randolph, OH/Waterloo) with a time of 23:35, Kate Ryan (So., Alliance, OH/Marlington) with a time of 24:07, and Kaitlyn Stayer (Fr., Suffield, OH/Field) with a time of 24:26. Elena Deighan (Fr., Sagamore Hills, OH/Western Reserve Academy) finished with a time of 24:48 and Lauren McCabe (Fr., Hilliard, OH/Bradley) clocked in at 26:35 to complete the team scoring.
The Cavaliers will wrap up the season next weekend at home with the 5K Invitational. It is scheduled to start at 11 a.m.
