10.21.12 WOMEN'S SOCCER: Oilers Blank Cavs

The University of Findlay (7-6-1, 7-3-1) spolied Walsh's (8-5-2, 4-5-2) Senior Day by blanking the Cavs 3-0.  The loss snapped the Cavs three-game winning streak.  Walsh closes the season next weekend with GLIAC matches at Northern Michigan University on Friday (4 p.m.) and at Michigan Tech University on Sunday (12 p.m.).

The Oilers dominated the first 45 minutes, outshooting the Cavs 16-1.  Emily Beddos opened the scoring as she headed in a cross from Brittany Guglielmi at 7:03.  Megan Gallaway then lobbed a thrown-in from Katie Burke over the head of Cavs' keeper Michaella Stucky (Fr., Medina, OH/HS) at 39:30.

The Oilers tacked on an insurance goal on Ann Eichman's tally at 74:30.
