10.22.11 MEN'S SOCCER: Cavs Set Consecutive Wins Record on Senior Day

Walsh broke a school record for consecutive wins with 13 after defeating Roberts Wesleyan 4-1 at Milazzo Field Saturday afternoon. The Cavaliers (14-1, 10-0) also finished the conference schedule unbeaten on a day where the seniors were honored during pre-game. The Raiders fall to 7-9-1 on the year.
Ben Truax (Sr., 6-1, Mansfield, OH/St. Peters) started the scoring with the first two goals in the 4th and 8th minutes on assists from Nathaniel Milhoan (Sr., 5-11, Hartville, OH/Lake) and Adam Greenwood (Jr., 5-11, Blackpool, England/Lytham St. Annes), respectively. Truax's first goal came on a header thrown in by Milhoan and the second came on a cross from Greenwood on the left side of the box. Truax is now one point away from tying the all-time career points record held by Craig Kench.
George Moga (Sr., 5-10, Akron, OH/Springfield) scored the third goal in the 31st minute on a breakaway give-and-go with the assist from Greenwood. Roberts Wesleyan then got on the board and made the score 3-1 on a goal by Michael Cunningham on an assist from Jesus Paesch in the 47th minute. The Cavs' set up the final score on a goal by Matt Bly (Jr., 5-10, Bellbrook, OH/HS) on an assist from Jordan Semple (Jr., 5-7, North Canton, OH/GlenOak) in the 67th minute.
Nate Rech (Sr. 6-0, Lordstown, OH/HS) picked up the start in goal and played 60 minutes and made two saves and allowed one goal. Mike Kelley (Jr., Chagrin Falls, OH/NDCL) came in for the final 30 minutes and made three saves.
The Cavs return to action when they host Notre Dame College on Monday evening at 7 p.m.
