10.26.11 CROSS COUNTRY: Walsh to Host Ohio Independent Championships
Men's Cross Country, 2011-10-26
Walsh University is hosting the first Ohio Independent Cross Country Championships for both men and women this Saturday that will consist of seven schools. Teams competing include Cedarville University, Central State University, Notre Dame College, Malone University, Urbana University, Ursuline College (women only), and host Walsh University.
The women's race starts at 10:15 am and the men's at 11:00 am.
Trophies will be awarded to the championship and runner-up teams. Medals will be awarded to the top 10 finishers.
The Walsh University cross country course is located at Hoover Park, across Maple Street from the main campus. Course maps are available on the website and at check-in for the layout that is rather flat, mostly grass course with a few gravel road crossings. The course is very spectator friendly.
Scores will be determined by the first seven places from each team. Teams may run team members listed on their rosters. No unattached or post-collegiate runners will be permitted to participate. Timing and scoring will be done by Terry Lewis of Runner's Supply, director of the Challenge Series in the Canton, Ohio area.
