10.3.11 WOMEN'S GOLF: Cavs Runners-up at Allegheny Invitational

The Walsh women's golf team finished second out of 11 teams at the Allegheny Invitational held on Sunday and today. The Cavs (23-5) finished with a total team score of 327, seven strokes behind DePauw University with a score of 320. Other teams participating included Allegheny, Wittenberg, Baldwin-Wallace, Mercyhurst, Denison, Wooster, Washington & Jefferson, Ohio Wesleyan, and Thiel.

Katy Collins (Sr., Youngstown, OH/Ursuline) and Jenny Tsangeos (Fr., Canton, OH/GlenOak) paced the Cavs as they tied for fifth place overall with a score of 81 overall. Both shot a round of 41 yesterday and 40 today. Nikki Kulasa (Sr., Amherst, OH/Amherst Steele) was one stroke behind and tied for eighth place overall with a 40 on Sunday and 42 today. Rounding out the team scoring was Kim Smith (Sr., Whitehouse Station, NJ/Hunterdon Central) with a score of 83 (42/41). Amanda Griffin (Fr., Tallmadge, OH/HS) also participated and shot a score of 90 (43/47).

The Cavs will play next in the All-Ohio Fall Tournament on Wednesday and Thursday.
