10.6.12 WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY: Cavs Finish Fourth at the Rock; Yoder Sixth
Women's Cross Country, 2012-10-06
Walsh finished fourth out of seven teams at the Slippery Rock Cross Country Invitational at Cooper’s Lake Campground Saturday morning. The Cavaliers are now 27-15 on the year. Hosting Slippery Rock won the event. Robert Morris finished second and Niagara was third.
Lissa Yoder (Sr., Cortland, OH/Maplewood) performed well and earned a top 10 finish as she placed sixth with a time of 24:04. Kelsey Dickey (So., Cortland, OH/Lakeview) wasn’t too far behind as she finished 12thwith a time of 24:23. Annie Wise (Fr., Randolph, OH/Waterloo) ran a 25:05, good for 20thoverall. Kate Ryan (So., Alliance, OH/Marlington) finished 32ndwith a time of 25:42. Kaitlyn Stayer (Fr., Suffield, OH/Field) followed her across the finish line eight seconds later. Elena Deighan (Fr., Sagamore Hills, OH/Western Reserve Academy) placed 42ndoverall with a time of 26:33, and Lauren McCabe rounded out the team scoring with a time of 27:15 in 53rdplace individually.
Walsh will be off for a week before participating in the GLIAC Championships on Saturday, Oct. 20, in Northwood, Michigan.
