10.9.11. WOMEN'S GOLF: Cavs Finish 5th at Wittenberg

Women's Golf, 2011-10-09

(Springfield, OH) Walsh (38-9) finished in fifth place (649) at the 16-team Pat Clouse Invitational at Windy Knoll Country Club, and hosted by Wittenberg University. The Cavs were fourth after the first round. They shot 325 today. Washington University-St. Louis, the first round leader, held on to win by 23 strokes over second place DePauw University.

Nikki Kulasa (Sr., Amherst, OH/Amherst Steele) paced the Cavs with a 78 today and finished tied for 10th place at 159 (81-78). Katy Collins (Sr., Youngstown, OH/Ursuline) tied for 18th place at 163 (80-83). Jenny Tsangeos (Fr., Canton, OH/GlenOak) finished 25th at 165 (82-83), Kim Smith (Sr., Whitehouse Station, NJ/Hunterdon Central) tied for 33rd at 170 (89-91) and Abbey Kimar (Sr., Canton, OH/Jackson) tied for 38th at 172 (81-91).

The Cavs "B" Team tied for ninth place (349-351=700) and was led by Katie Kohut's (Jr., Twinsburg, OH/Walsh Jesuit) 163 (79-84). Kohut tied for 18th. Nikki Barr (Jr., Canton, OH/South) tied for 51st at 178 (90-88), Kelsey Ozanich (Jr., Warren, OH/Howland) finished 55th at 181 (91-90), Amanda Griffin (Fr., TAllmadage, OH/HS) (93-89) and Ashley Winston (Jr., Twinsburg, OH/HS) (89-93) tied for 56th at 182.
