11.1.11 WOMEN'S SOCCER: Walsh Opens OIC Playoffs on Friday

Number two seed Walsh (13-4) opens the Ohio Independent Championships on Friday at 5 pm, when they meet the winner of Tuesday's Malone University (3-12)/Ursuline College (12-2-1) game. Malone is the number six seed and Ursuline the number three seed. All games are being played at Brush High School in Lyndhurst, Ohio.

Notre Dame College (10-3-1) is the top seed, and plays the winner of Tuesday's Urbana University (4-11-1)/Cedarville University (6-7-2) game on Friday at 7 pm. Urbana is the number five seed and Cedarville number four seed.

Walsh defeated Malone 1-0 in the regular season, but did not play Ursuline. The Cavs defeated Cedarville 2-1 in overtime, and blanked Urbana 3-0. The Cavs and Notre Dame did not meet in the regular season.

The championship game is on Saturday at 5 pm.
