11.12.11 VOLLEYBALL: Cavs Sting Jackets in Three to Win OIC Title

Behind the hitting of Julianne O’Donnell (Jr., 5-10, Willowick, OH/Lake Catholic) and Kristine Sokol (So., 5-9, Akron, OH/Hoban), Walsh (27-7) closed the season by defeating Cedarville University in three sets in the Ohio Independent Championship match. The Cavs won by set scores of 25-15, 25-12 and 26-24.

O'Donnell led the Cavs with 12 kills, with Sokol adding 10. O'Donnell also added eight digs and five service aces. She posted a hitting percentage of .423, while Sokol sparkled with a hitting mark of .500. Sokol also had a match-high four blocks.

Hannah Duran (Jr., 5-9, Grafton, OH/Midview) handed a match-high 30 assists, while adding seven digs. Kristine Rohlfs (Sr., 5-8, Loveland, OH/Mount Notre Dame) recorded a match-high 16 digs.
