11.17.11 FOOTBALL: Showell, Stover Earn All-MSFA Honors

Walsh University offensive lineman Derrick Showell (6-5, 289, Sr., Columbus, OH/Briggs) and return specialist Tony Stover (6-2, 203, So., Akron, OH/Northwest) have earned post season honors from the Mid-States Football Association.

Showell (pictured left), a four-year letter winner at guard, earned first-team honors on the Mideast Team for the second straight year. One of the leaders of the offensive line, Showell helped the team average over 200 yards per game rushing and allowed only six sacks on the season.

Stover (pictured right) averaged a Walsh record 17.6 yards per punt return and returned a punt 75 yards for a touchdown at Urbana. He averaged 22.5 per kick return, with a long of 53 yards.
