11.18.11 MEN'S SOCCER: Six Named as All-AMC; Truax Takes Player of the Year Honors

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Walsh forward Ben Truax (Sr., 6-1, Mansfield, OH/HS) has been selected the AMC Men’s Soccer Player of the Year after leading the Cavaliers to a perfect league season. He leads a group of six Cavs’ who earned All-AMC honors. Ben Latimer (Sr., 5-11, Sunbury, OH/Big Walnut) and Adam Greenwood (Jr., 5-11, Blackpool, England/Lytham St. Annes) also joined Truax on the All-AMC First Team. George Moga (Sr., 5-10, Akron, OH/Springfield) and Nathaniel Milhoan (Sr., 5-11, Hartville, OH/Lake) were named to the All-AMC Second Team. Mike Kelley (Jr., 6-0, Chagrin Falls, OH/NDCL) was named an All-AMC Honorable Mention.

Truax guided Walsh to a 15-5 overall record and a 10-0 slate in the AMC. He finished the year with 20 goals and five assists to become the Cavs’ all-time leader in goals with 51 and points with 119. This is the third consecutive year Truax has been selected to the All-AMC First Team. He was also an honorable mention his freshman year.

Latimer played and started in 19 games at midfield for Walsh. He aided the offense attack with five assists during the year. Latimer was a second-team selection a year ago, and an honorable mention his freshman and sophomore years. Greenwood also played and started in 19 games, scored two goals, and made eight assists for 12 points as a defender.

Moga and Milhoan earned spots on the All-AMC Second Team and were an integral part of the offense as each player scored 17 points. Moga scored six goals and five assists while Milhoan scored five goals and seven assists. Milhoan is now a three-time All-AMC Second Team selection.

Kelley was an honorable mention selection after allowing only 15 goals for a 0.95 goals against average on the season. He also made 62 saves and recorded six shutouts.
