11.21.12 SOFTBALL: Walsh Softball Signs Reusser to Class of 2013
Walsh University women’s softball head coach Jaime Porter announced that Abby Reusser (Orrville, OH/HS) has signed a institutional letter of intent to play for the Cavs in the 2013-14 season.
“I am very pleased with the addition of Abby to our program,” said Porter. “Her outstanding defensive ability adds depth to our middle infield and will push our upperclassmen to perform, while her bat will contribute to our offense. She is a quiet leader who leads by example. She possesses an enormous about of talent, and I am glad she has chosen to continue her academic and athletic career at Walsh.”
Reusser has lettered three times at shortstop for Craig Johnson at Orrville. She will earn her fourth letter this spring. The three-sport star also earned four basketball letters and one volleyball letter.
She hit .481 with a homer and 17 RBI her sophomore year and hit .371 with two homeruns and 16 RBI last year and was named the teams’ Co-Defensive Player as a freshman and Co-Offensive Player of the Year as a sophomore.
In basketball, Abby earned honorable mention all-conference and Daily Record as a sophomore and junior.
Abby earned scholar-athlete honors twice in basketball and volleyball and in softball last year. She is a member of National Honor Society, the Wayne College Dean’s List and the Honor Roll.
She is the daughter of Dennis and Lisa Reusser and plans to major in physical therapy.
