11.3.11 VOLLEYBALL: Balanced Attack Leads Cavs Past Carlow in Four
Women's Volleyball, 2011-11-03
Walsh (23-6, 8-1) used a balanced attack to defeat Carlow University (8-18, 0-9) in four sets tonight in an American Mideast Conference match. The Cavs won their 23rd game by the scores of 25-11, 20-25, 25-8 and 25-13.
Julianne O'Donnell (Jr., 5-10, Willowick, OH/Lake Catholic) led the team with 17 kills, while adding nine digs. Paige Chandler (R-So., 6-0, Cincinnati, OH/McNicholas) and Kristen Sokol (OH, 5-9, So., Akron, OH/Archbishop Hoban) each had 11 kills. Sokol also added a team-high three blocks.
Hannah Duran (Jr., 5-9, Grafton, OH/Midview) passed out 45 assists. Kristen Rohlfs (Sr., 5-8, Loveland, OH/Mount Notre Dame) led with 18 digs, with Natalie Phillips (5-10, Sr., Wooster, OH/HS) adding nine.
Walsh is on the road on Saturday, when they travel to Daemen College for an AMC match at 6:30 pm
