Ohio Independent Championship Game

OPPONENT: Notre Dame College

WHERE: Brush High School, Lyndhurst, Ohio

TIME: 7 pm

Second-seeded Walsh (15-4) advanced to the OIC championship game with a 2-1 win over fourth-seeded Cedarville University (12-6) on Thursday at Milzzzo Field. Top seeded Notre Dame reached the title game with a 2-0 win over fourth seeded Malone University on Thursday night.

Cedarville opened the scoring with the games' first goal shortly after the start of the second half. The lead was short-lived, however, as Chad Flath (Sr., 5-10, Wadsworth, OH/HS) answered with the equalizer on an assist from Jordan Semple (Jr., 5-7, North Canton, OH/GlenOak) that gave Flath a one-on-one opportunity with the goalkeeper in the 50th minute. Matt Bly (Jr., 5-10, Bellbrook, OH/HS) scored the game winner off of a rebounded shot in the 74th minute.

Notre Dame beat the Cavs in the regular season, and snapped their 13-game winning, 2-1 on October 24 at Walsh.
