(BAY CITY, Mich.) – The women’s soccer conference awards have been released and Jessie Gearhart (So.,Wadsworth, OH/HS) been named to the 2013 All-GLIAC Women’s Soccer Team as an honorable mention. The 5-9 forward turned midfielder led the team in all major offensive categories with five goals and four assists for 14 points.

Gearhart started in all 18 games for the Cavs this season. Walsh was 3-1-2 in games that she recorded either a goal or an assist.

Gearhart was an important part of the all-around on-field chemistry for the Cavaliers. On the offensive end, she scored goals against St. Thomas Aquinas, Ohio Valley, Ohio Dominican, and Tiffin. Her game against the Dragon was perhaps the finest of her young college career as she put in two goals, which included the game-winning goal, and assisted on another in a 6-2 win. Gearhart also scored Walsh’s only goal in a 1-1 draw with Ohio Valley. On the defensive end, she helped control the midfield and help impede opponents’ offensive threats as Walsh shutout five teams on the season.
