11.9.11 MEN'S SOCCER: Cavs Place Five on All-OIC Team; Truax Player of the Year

The men’s soccer team has placed five players on the All-Ohio Independent Conference led by Ben Truax (Sr., 6-1, Mansfield, OH/St. Peters) who earned Player of the Year honors. The Cavaliers finished the year 15-5, its best season since going 17-5-2 in 1994.

Truax earned Player of the Year and All-OIC First Team honors after having a record setting season that saw him score 20 goals and five assists for 45 points. He is now Walsh’s all-time career goals scored and points scored leader with 51 goals and 119 points.

Nate Milhoan (Sr., 5-11, Hartville, OH/Lake) and Mike Kelley (Jr., 6-0, Chagrin Falls, OH/NDCL) also earned All-OIC First Team accolades. Milhoan tied two others for the second-most points on the team with 17. Milhoan scored five goals and seven assists on the year. Kelley was excellent in goal this year with a 0.95 goals against average, 62 saves, and six shutouts.

Ben Latimer (Sr., 5-11, Sunbury, OH/Big Walnut) and Adam Greenwood (Jr., 5-11, Blackpool, England/Lytham St. Annes) earned spots on the All-OIC Second Team. Latimer played and started in 19 games and recorded five assists this season. Greenwood scored two goals and eight assists for 12 points. He was one of six players on the team to scored double-figures in points.
