11.9.11 VOLLEYBALL: Walsh Plays Host to OIC Volleyball Tournament

NORTH CANTON- OH Walsh University plays host to the seven-team Ohio Independent Volleyball Championships this Friday and Saturday. The single elimination tournament begins at 3 pm on Friday, with three matches. The semifinals and championship match will be played on Saturday.

Cedarville University (20-15) is the number one seed. Malone University (28-10) is the number two seed, with host Walsh (24-7) the three seed. Urbana University (8-25) is the fourth seed, Notre Dame College (11-19) is the fifth seed, Ursuline College (11-19) the sixth seed and Central State University (0-23) the seventh seed.

Urbana meets Notre Dame in the first match at 3pm, with the winner meeting Cedarville on Saturday morning at 10 am. Walsh and Ursuline play at 5 pm on Friday and Malone and Central State play at 7 pm, with the winners meeting at 12pm on Saturday. The championship is tentatively set for 4pm, but is subject to change.

Tickets are $5.00 for adults and $2.00 for students. Walsh students are admitted free with a valid ID card.
