12.29.12 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Gannon Tops Cavs for 10th Straight Win

(North Canton, OH) Gannon University (11-1) won its tenth straight game, defeating Walsh 82-60 in a non-conference game today.  The loss snapped Walsh's three-game winning streak.  The Cavs return to the floor on Thursday, when they travel to Grand Valley State for a GLIAC game (8 pm).  The game will be broadcast live on 95.9 WNPQ.

Gannon led from start-to-finish in the win. The Knights hit their first seven three-pointers and never looked back.  The Knights built a 46-31 halftime lead, as they connected on 9-13 from three-point in the first half. 

Walsh cut the lead to ten points twice in the second half but could get no closer.  Tracy Payne (5-5, Sr., Danville, OH/HS) led Walsh, and all scorers, with a season-high 26 points.  Whitney Dabbelt (6-0, So., West Carrollton, OH/Alter) added ten points and six rebounds.

Gannon was led by Jen Papich, who tallied 18 points.
