12.3.13 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: "Marchesano Goes East and West to Ink Pair"

(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) Walsh University Women's Basketball Coach Maria Marchesano has announced that Holly Grober and Alex Hochstedler have signed NCAA National Letters of Intent during the early signing period to continue their education and play basketball for the Cavaliers in 2014-15.

“We are very excited about the addition of Holly and Alex to our program,” exclaimed Marchesano. “They both bring a lot of energy and athleticism to the court, but one of the most impressive qualities they both have is their ability to make their teammates better.” 

Grober (W/F, 5-11) is from Hickory High School in Hermitage, Pennsylvania. Holly scored her 1,000th career point last year and averaged 15.8 points per game as a junior, and was selected first-team all-region, and co-region player of the year. Grober has totaled 1,095 career points and 650 rebounds through three seasons.

Hochstedler (G/F, 5-9) is from Fishers High School in Fishers, Indiana. Alex ranks in the Lady Tigers' top ten in points, rebounds, assists, and steals.  She averaged 12.8 ppg and 5.7 rpg last year and was selected first-team All-HCC. She won the "Eye of the Tiger" award as a sophomore, making her the first underclassmen in the history of the school to win the award. 

Walsh is a member of the NCAA ll and plays in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
