2.11.14 MEN'S BASKETBALL: Walsh Ranked for the First Time at No. 23

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the first time in school history, Walsh (17-3, 13-3) has cracked the National Association of Basketball Coaches/Division ll rankings at number 23. The Cavs, who have won six straight games, and 12 of their last 13, received 45 votes. They were 28th last week, receiving 13 votes.

Four GLIAC teams are represented, with two in the top 25. Lake Superior State comes in at number 20, moving five spots from last week. The University of Findlay received nine votes and Michigan Tech University received two votes.

Metropolitan State (20-1) is the number one team for the second straight week. They are riding a 17-game winning streak.

Walsh, who leads Findlay by a half-game in the GLIAC South, returns to the hardwood on Thursday night at Ohio Dominican University at 7:30 pm. They are back home on Saturday to meet Tiffin University at 3 pm. Both games will be broadcast live on WNPQ, 95.9 FM.
