2.14.14 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Cavs Look to Slay Dragons at Home on Saturday

Walsh (8-15, 4-13) plays their next to last home game, when they host Tiffin University (7-14, 4-13) on Saturday at 1 pm. The game will be streamed live on TEAMLINE.
The Cavs, who have split their last four games, lost at Ohio Dominican University 72-68 on Thursday night. The Cavs are tied with Tiffin and Lake Erie College for sixth place in the GLIAC South with identical 4-13 conference records.
LEAD GETS AWAY: Walsh led by as many as nine points (43-34) in the second half, and by four points (56-52) with 6:23 to play, but couldn’t hang on in falling in Columbus on Thursday night. After falling behind 2-0, the Cavs led the rest of the first half, and took a 32-28 lead into the locker room. Walsh led 47-40 with 12:52 to play when the Panthers used a 9-0 run to regain the lead. Walsh would rally and regain the lead, and held their last lead at 58-56 with 5:03 to play. ODU led by five points at 66-61, with 1:55 to play when Tara Gallupe scored on a layup and hit two free throws to cut the lead to one point (66-65) with 1:08 to play. ODU responded and pushed the lead back to five points at 70-65 with 22 seconds left. Jalynn Graham’s three cut the lead to 70-68 with 10 seconds to play, but ODU salted the game away with two free throws. Gallupe led Walsh with 22 points, going 8-8 from the line. She had a double-double with 11 rebounds. Graham added 21 points, going 3-3 from three-point, and Kelsey Funderburgh scored 19 points.
