2.16.13 MEN'S TENNIS: Cavs Clipped By Lake Superior

(SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich.) - Walsh fell in its first-ever GLIAC match on the road to Lake Superior State by a close 5-4 score on Saturday. The Cavaliers (1-4, 0-1) started out well with wins in two of the three doubles matches, but lost four of the six singles matches.
Pablo Cabezon (Fr., Santander Cantabria, Spain/Calasanz Collegue) continues to impress as he won twice at first singles and first doubles. He won his singles match by 6-4, 6-4 and paired with Louis Thomas (Jr., Canton, OH/Jackson) to win 8-4. Carlos Jaque (Fr., Chijuayante, Concepcion, Chile/Lycee Charles de Gaulle) picked up a win in a close fifth singles contest by a score of 6-4, 4-6, 7-5. Alex Portelance (Fr., Repentigny, Quebec/Felix-Leclerc) and Jarred Gable (Sr., Seville, OH/Cloverleaf) won at third doubles by a score of 8-5.
The Cavaliers will be back in action again tomorrow at Michigan Tech.
