(TIFFIN, Ohio) - Tiffin used some late game heroics and edged visiting Walsh by a 65-60 count in overtime in GLIAC action Saturday afternoon. The Dragons (11-12, 8-11) were able to hit a 3-pointer at the end of regulation to force the extra period. The Cavaliers fall to 7-15 overall and 4-14 in the conference.

The Cavaliers did a good job of getting back into the game that saw them down 12 points at one point. Down 42-39 with 7:43 to play, Walsh went on a 9-0 run for its largest lead of the game. However, Tiffin was able to come back with six of the next seven points to make it a one-point game. A pair of Tracy Payne (Sr., 5-5, Danville, OH/HS/Notre Dame College) made it 51-48 to set up the heartbreaking conclusion.

After a missed shot by the Dragon’s Macy Byrd, Stephanie Kelly was able to find the ball in her hands and converted on a 3-pointer to tie the game at 51-51 with no time remaining. From there, the Dragons scored the first points in overtime and led the rest of the way.

Payne led the Cavs and finished with a game-high 21 points. She was aided by Rachael Trujillo (Fr., 5-8, Cleveland, OH/Westlake) who came off the bench to score 12 points.
