2.2.13 MEN'S TRACK AND FIELD: Justin Groubert Wins 800 at Jim Wuske Invite

(Alliance, Ohio) - Walsh participated in the Mt. Union “Jim Wuske” Invitational this afternoon and had five events in which the Cavaliers placed in the top three. Leading the way with the Cavs’ only first place finish was Justin Groubert (So., Hartville, OH/Lake) in the 800 meter run. He finished with a time of 1:57.83.

Second-place finishers included Matt Mizer (Fr., Canton, OH/Perry) in the 1,000 meter run, Jackson Zaremba (Fr., Canton, OH/GlenOak) in the 3,000 meter run, and the 4x400 meter relay team consisting of Craig Dougherty (Jr., Clinton, OH/Manchester), Chris Noussias (Sr., Canton, OH/GlenOak), John Schweinfurth (Sr., Medina, OH/HS), and Devon Gates (Jr., Canton, OH/Central Catholic). Mizer finished with a time of 2:41.56, Zaremba finished with a time of 9:04.43, and the 4x400 meter relay team finished with a time of 3:31.85. 

Gates also finished third individually in the 500 meter run with a time of 1:09.31

The Cavaliers are off next weekend and will run its penultimate indoor meet in two weeks at the Kent State Tune-Up.
