(FINDLAY, Ohio) - Walsh was defeated by Findlay by a score of 95-72 in GLIAC South Division action Thursday evening. It was the Cavaliers (7-16, 4-15) sixth game on the road in their past seven contests. The Oilers (20-4, 17-3) are ranked No. 25 nationally and No. 2 in the Midwest region.
The Oilers led from start the finish and used a 12-0 run in the early goings of the game to distance itself from the Cavaliers. By halftime, it was 45-22.
Tracy Payne (Sr., 5-5, Danville, OH/HS/Notre Dame College) led the Cavs with a game-high 26-point effort. She was 9-of-17 from the field and made a trio of 3-pointers. Lydia Corle (Fr., 5-9, North Canton, OH/Green) was the only other Cavalier in double figures with 12 points on a strong night from the floor that saw her make 5-of-6.
Findlay's Kayla Brown led five Oilers in double-figures with 21 points.
Walsh returns home this weekend for a Saturday afternoon matchup with Hillsdale. It is the first of three consecutive home games to close out the season. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. with the broadcast being available on Teamline.
