2.29.12 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Cavs' Trio Named to All-AMC Team

Tracy Payne (Jr., 5-5, Danville, OH/HS/Notre Dame College) leads a cast of three Walsh players to be selected to the 2011-12 All-American Mideast Conference Team. Payne was chosen as a second-team member. Also making the All-AMC squad were Daniella Ciccarone (So., 5-8, Quakertown, PA/Community Senior) and Kristi Yoder (Sr., 6-1, Millersburg, OH/Hiland) as honorable mentions.
This is the second straight year Payne has been placed on the All-AMC team. Last year, she was an honorable mention while playing for the Notre Dame Falcons. She started all 30 games she played this season and was the Cavs’ leading scorer with an average of 11.3 points per game. She led the team in multiple categories including field goals made (127), three-pointers made (32), steals (42), and points scored (340).
Ciccarone is also a second-time selection as she was on the All-AMC Freshmen Team a year ago. She was the second-leading scorer on the team with an average of 9.4 points per game and established herself as one of the better free throw shooters in the nation as she made 85.6 percent (101 of 118) of her shots from the charity stripe. Ciccarone led the team in assists with 79 and third on the team in steals with 39.
Yoder makes the All-AMC team for a second time after being named to the All-Freshmen team three years ago. She was the third-leading scorer for the Cavaliers with 8.8 points per game and started all 28 games she played. Yoder led the team in rebounds with 157, 5.6 points per game.
