Cavs (43-20) Paul Vincent Places 175th at Nationals

Paul Vincent (Jr., Garrettsville, OH/Garfield) top right finished 175th (27:38.3) in a field of 254 at the NAIA Men's National Cross Country Championships in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday. Vincent, Walsh's lone representative at the 48th annual NAIA National Cross Country Championships, received one of 14 at-large berths after finishing fourth (26:31) at the American Mideast Conference championships. It was his first trip to nationals.

Cavs (43-20) Paul Vincent To Run at NAIA Championships

Paul Vincent (Jr., Garrettsville, OH/Garfield) will represent the Cavs at the 48th annual NAIA National Cross Country Championships in Louisville, KY this Saturday. Cavs (43-20) 4th at AMC Championships/Paul Vincent Qualifies For NAIA Championships/First Team All-AMC

Walsh finished tied for fourth place with host Saint Vincent College at the American Mideast Conference championships held in LaTrobe, PA today. Malone College won the event going away. Shawnee State University finished second and Cedarville University placed third.

Number one man Paul Vincent (Jr., Garrettsville, OH/Garfield) top right continued to pace the Cavs with a strong 4th place (26:31) finish, which was good enough to qualify for the NAIA National's in Louisville, KY on November 15th. Vincent will be making his first trip to nationals. He also earned All-AMC honors with his fourth place finish. Steve Mackle (So., Malvern, OH/HS) was next for the Cavs with a 26th place finish (27:54). Kevin Cooper (So., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) finished 29th (28:01), Nick Aukerman (Jr., East Canton, OH/HS) 32nd (28:06) and Ryan Collins (Creston, OH/Norwayne) finished 34th (28:10).

Cavs (35-17) at AMC Championships

Walsh won a cross country relay against Notre Dame of Ohio on Saturday. This Saturday, the Cavs travel to Saint Vincent College (LaTrobe, PA) for the American Mideast Conference championships. The Cavs were eighth at the championships last year. The race begins at 11 a.m.

Nick Aukerman (Jr., East Canton, OH/HS), Ryan Collins (Creston, OH/Norwayne) Sean McBride (Fr., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) and Rob Strong (Sr., Tusky Valley, OH/HS) made-up the Cavs winning relay team against the Blue Falcons.

Cavs (35-17) 4th at Gettysburg Invitational

Walsh finished 4th in a field of 20-teams at the Gettysburg Invitational on Saturday. Otterbein College won the event. Number one man Paul Vincent (Jr., Garrettsville, OH/Garfield) continued to pace the Cavs with a 4th place (26:24.97) finish. Nick Aukerman (Jr., East Canton, OH/HS) top right was next for the Cavs, placing 25th in a time of 27:35.99. Joel Dagenhardt (Jr., Marlington, OH/HS) was right behind Aukerman in 26th place (27:36.65). Steve Mackle (So., Malvern, OH/HS) bottom right placed 36th (27:57.24), Ryan Collins (Creston, OH/Norwayne) 37th (27:57.68) and Kevin Cooper (So., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) 42nd (28:02.63).

The Cavs are home on Saturday to Notre Dame, Seton Hill and Tiffin. The race begins at noon.

Cavs (19-14) 5th at All-Ohio Meet

Walsh finished 5th at the All-Ohio meet at Ohio Wesleyan University today in Delaware, Ohio. The fifth place finish represents the NAIA/NCAA D-ll race. Paul Vincent (Jr., Garrettsville, OH/Garfield) right paced the Cavs with an 8th place (27:42.9) finish. Steve Mackle (So., Malvern, OH/HS) was next at 22nd (28:55.2). Ryan Collins (Creston, OH/Norwayne) placed 26th (28:59.7), Tim Geabler (Fr., Canton, OH/GlenOak) 29th (29:15.5), Joel Dagenhardt (Jr., Marlington, OH/HS) 31st (29:29.6), Sean McBride (Fr., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) 32nd (29:35.3) and Nick Aukerman (Jr., East Canton, OH/HS) 37th (30:27.5).

The Cavs compete in the Gettysburg Invitational next Saturday.

Despite a strong second place (27:21.0) finish from Paul Vincent (Jr., Garrettsville, OH/Garfield). Walsh (17-10) finished second in the Mount Union Invitational on Saturday. Joel Dagenhardt (Jr., Marlington, OH/HS) was next for the Cavs with a fourth place finish (27:36.70). Steve Mackle (So., Malvern, OH/HS) finished 10th (28:42.50), Ryan Collins (Creston, OH/Norwayne) placed 13th (28:48.90), Tim Geabler (Fr., Canton, OH/GlenOak) 14th (28:58.60) and Nick Aukerman (Jr., East Canton, OH/HS) 15th (29:07/10).

The Cavs will compete in the All-Ohio Intercollegiate meet in Delaware, Ohio on Friday. Walsh finished 7th in the All-Ohio last year.

After Vincent's first place finish, the Golden Tornadoes took third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh to capture the meet 25-33. Cavs 9th at National Catholic Meet at Notre Dame

Walsh (15-8) finished 9th in the division two race and 18th overall at the National Catholic Meet at Notre Dame (South Bend, IN) yesterday. Paul Vincent (Jr., Garrettsville, OH/Garfield) paced the Cavs with a 14th place finish(26:32). Other Walsh finishes: Sean McBride (Fr., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) was 44th (27:55), Ryan Collins (Creston, OH/Norwayne) placed 58th (28:10), Kevin Cooper (Fr., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) 60th (28:13) and Tim Geabler (Fr., Canton, OH/GlenOak) 65th (28:20).

The Cavs host Geneva at 4 p.m. on Friday.

Cavs Win Season Opener at Notre Dame/At National Catholic Meet on Friday

Walsh's men (6-0) won its first race of the season defeating six schools at Notre Dame College. This week they compete at the National Catholic Meet on Friday at Notre Dame (IN). Last season they placed 8th in the college division.

Walsh ran away with the meet placing seven runners in the top ten. Paul Vincent (Jr., Garrettsville, OH/Garfield) won the race in a time of 28:29. The Cavs took places four through seven and nine and ten. Other Walsh finishes: Sean McBride (Fr., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) 4th (30:05), 5th. Kevin Cooper (Fr., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) 5th (30:05), Ryan Collins (Creston, OH/Norwayne) 6th ((30:06) , Rob Strong (Tusky Valley, OH/HS) 7th (30:11), Tim Geabler (Fr., Canton, OH/GlenOak) 9th (30:20), and Adam Vincent (So., Garrettsville, OH/Garfield) 10th (31:20).

Cavs Win Meet at Notre Dame (OH)

Walsh (6-0) won its first race of the season defeating six schools at the Notre Dame College Invitational held Saturday in South Euclid, Ohio. Walsh ran away with the meet placing seven runners in the top ten. Paul Vincent (Jr., Garrettsville, OH/Garfield) won the race in a time of 28:29. Cavs Host Alumni Meet on Sunday...

Walsh hosts their annual Alumni Meet on Sunday on campus. The Cavs open for real on Saturday, September 13 at the Notre Dame (Ohio) Invitational.
