"Cavs Finish 22nd at NAIA Nationals"

Walsh (45-35) shot a 369 in their final round and finished 22nd in their first apperance at the NAIA National Championships at Blackthorn Golf Club in South Bend, Indiana. The Cavs produced a 72-hole total of 1464. Oklahoma City University won the NAIA championship, with a 72-hole total of 1226. Christine Haver (So., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) shot a final round 87 and tied for 83rd (355). Meghan Snider (So., Massillon, OH/Jackson) closed with an 88 and finished tied for 86th (356). Kelsey Saleet (So., Canton, OH/McKinley) shot a 97 and finished 104th (374). Andrea Ferriell (So., Hartville, OH/St. Thomas) finished with a 102 and tied for 110th (384) and Christina Trbovich (So., Canton, OH/McKinley) shot a 97 and finished tied for 112th (396).

"Cavs Get Set For Final Round"

Rain and storms delayed the start of today's third round of the NAIA National Championships at Blackthorn Golf Club in South Bend, Indiana. Walsh, in 22nd place, shot 363 in the third round. The final 18 holes will be played today. Meghan Snider (So., Massillon, OH/Jackson) (Pictrued top right) played her best round of the tournament, shooting 86 and is tied with Christine Haver (So., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) for 85th with a three-day score of 268. Haver shot a 91 today. Kelsey Saleet (So., Canton, OH/McKinley) is tied for 99th (277), after shooting 93. Andrea Ferriell (So., Hartville, OH/St. Thomas) also shot a 93 and is 107th (282) and Christina Trbovich (So., Canton, OH/McKinley) scored 99 and is 113th (299).

"Cavs Post 373 Second Round Score at Nationals, Stand 22nd"

Walsh shot a 373 and stands 22nd, after the second round of the NAIA National Championships at Blackthorn Golf Club in South Bend, Indiana today. Christine Haver (So., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) (Pictrued top right) paced the Cavs with an 89 and has 36-hole total of 177 (T-83rd). Meghan Snider (So., Massillon, OH/Jackson) shot her second straight 91 and has 36-hole total of 182 (T-92nd). Kelsey Saleet (So., Canton, OH/McKinley) shot 96 and has two-day total of 184 (T-100th), Andrea Ferriell (So., Hartville, OH/St. Thomas) shot 97 and totals 189 (106th) and Christina Trbovich (So., Canton, OH/McKinley) shot 95 and has a total of 196 (13th).

The third round of the 72-hole tournament is Thursday.

"Cavs 21st After First Round"

The Walsh University Women's Golf Team is tied for 21st after the first round of the NAIA National Championships at Blackthorn Golf Club in South Bend, Indiana. The Cavaliers finished the opening round with a 359. Embry Riddle leads the field, after shooting a first round score of 313.

Christine Haver (So., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) and Kelsey Saleet (So., Canton, OH/McKinley) each shot 88 and are tied for 74th. Meghan Snider (So., Massillon, OH/Jackson) is tied for 94th at 91, Andrea Ferriell (So., Hartville, OH/St. Thomas) is tied for 97th at 92 and Christina Trbovich (So., Canton, OH/McKinley) is tied for 113th at 101.

The Cavs' Andrea Ferriell is the first to tee-off on Tuesday, starting on the tenth hole at 8:50 am.

"Cavs Set to Tee-Off at NAIA Nationals"

NAIA No. 25 Walsh will tee-off next week at the NAIA National Golf Championships at Blackthorn Golf Club in South Bend, Indiana. Play begins Tuesday morning. The Cavs, only in their second year, are making their first trip to the tournament. Walsh won the NAIA Region IX Championship this past fall.

"Walsh Finishes Fifth at YSU"

NAIA No. 25 Walsh finished in fifth place at the Youngstown State University Invitational. The Cavs finished with a two-day total of 707, after shooting 348 today. Butler University won the event. Christine Haver (So., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) (Pictured top right) paced the Cavs with a tie for 12th (87-81=168). Meghan Snider (So., Massillon, OH/Jackson) tied for 19th (85-89=174), Kelsey Saleet (So., Canton, OH/McKinley) finished 24th (95-86=181), Christina Trbovich (So., Canton, OH/McKinley) finished 25th (92-92=184) and Andrea Ferriell (So., Hartville, OH/St. Thomas) tied for 30th (98-93-191). Meghan DiFrancesco (Fr., Canton, OH/St. Thomas Aquinas) finished 32 (95-99=194).

Next up for the Cavs is the 11th annual NAIA Championships in South Bend, IN, May 17-20.

"Cavs Fifth After 1st Day at Youngstown State"

NAIA No. 25 Walsh is fifth at the first day of competition at the Youngstown State University Invitational. The final 18 holes are on Monday. The Cavs shot 359 and trail the leader, Butler University, by 34 strokes. Meghan Snider (So., Massillon, OH/Jackson) played well, firing an 85. She is tied for 11th. Christine Haver (So., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) shot 87 for the Cavs and is tied for 17th. Christina Trbovich (So., Canton, OH/McKinley) is 24th, after shooting 92, Kelsey Saleet (So., Canton, OH/McKinley) is tied for 26th (95) and Andrea Ferriell (So., Hartville, OH/St. Thomas) is 31st (98).

Cavs (44-10) Fifth at Ohio Cup

Walsh (44-10) finished fifth, in a field of eight teams, at the Ohio Cup played at Pine Hills Golf in Hinckley, Ohio. Walsh finished with 17.5 points. Malone College won the event with 32 points. Points were determined in match play, best ball play, stroke play and alternating ball play.

Christine Haver (So., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) finished first in stroke play, with a 45, to give the Cavs four points. Haver also picked-up two points in match play. Andrea Ferriell (So., Hartville, OH/St. Thomas) also shot a 45 to give the Cavs 3.5 points. Kelsey Saleet (So., Canton, OH/McKinley) and Meghan Snider (So., Massillon, OH/Jackson) finished sixth in alternating ball play to give the Cavs three points. Meghan DiFrancesco (Fr., Canton, OH/St. Thomas Aquinas) and Christina Trbovich (So., Canton, OH/McKinley) scored three points for the Cavs, by finishing sixth in the alternating best ball.

"Cavs 5th at Ohio Cup"

"Cavs Fifth at Capital's Purple and White Invitational/Second Round Cancelled"

Walsh (41-6) finished in fifth place at the weather shortened Purple and White Invitational at Capital University. The field played 18 holes on Friday, with Saturday's played cancelled due to the spring snow storm which blanketed Columbus. St. Mary's (Ind.) won the event after shooting 357. The Cavs shot 392. Christina Trbovich (So., Canton, OH/McKinley) (Pictured top right) paced the Cavs with a 94 (46-48) and finished tied for 13th. Christine Haver (So., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) tied for 18th, after shooting 96 (48-48). Andrea Ferriell (So., Hartville, OH/St. Thomas) tied for 22nd, after shooting 99 (48-51). Kelsey Saleet (So., Canton, OH/McKinley) (50-53) and Meghan Snider (So., Massillon, OH/Jackson) (53-50) tied for 35th, after shooting 103. Meghan DiFrancesco (Fr., Canton, OH/St. Thomas Aquinas) shot 116 (60-56) and placed 51st.

The Cavs are at Baldwin-Wallace for the Ohio Cup on April 9.

"Champion Cavs Ranked 21st in NAIA Preseason Poll"

The Walsh University Women's Golf Team stands 21st in the NAIA preseason poll released on Thursday. Walsh (36-2), the American Mideast Conference and NAIA Region IX Champion, will make their first appearance in the NAIA National Championships in May. Walsh completed their first fall season in October, by successfully defending their AMC crown. This is the first time that the Cavs have been ranked.

"Cavs Capture Second Straight AMC Crown"

The Walsh University Women's Golf Team successfully defended their American Mideast Conference/NAIA Region IX title yesterday at the Zoar Village Golf Course in Bolivar, Ohio. The Cavs (36-2) defeated second place Malone College by seven strokes to gain their first trip to the 11th NAIA Championships, this May 17-20 in South Bend, IN at the Blackhern Country Club. Walsh finished with a 361 total. Malone was second (368), Tiffin placed third (373), Seton Hill fourth (375), Ohio Dominican fifth (404), Saint Vincent sixth (436) and Notre Dame seventh (428).

Walsh placed four golfers in the top ten, led by Christine Haver's (So., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) top right third place finish. Haver shot 87 on the par 72 course under extremely poor conditions due to the wind and rain. She earned first team All-AMC honors. Meghan Snider (So., Massillon, OH/Jackson) bottom right and Kelsey Saleet (So., Canton, OH/McKinley) tied for 8th, after shooting 91 and were tabbed second team All-AMC. Christina Trbovich (So., Canton, OH/McKinley) finished 9th after shooting 92 and was named second team All-AMC and Meghan DiFrancesco (Fr., Canton, OH/St. Thomas Aquinas) shot 107.

"I'm extremely proud of our play and the way we held up in trying conditions," exclaimed first year Head Coach Karley Mohler. Mohler was named AMC Coach of the Year. "We're looking forward to going to nationals this spring."

"Cavs (30-2) Defend AMC Title on Monday"

Walsh (30-2) defends its American Mideast Conference/NAIA Region IX title today in Bolivar, Ohio at the Zoar Village Golf Course. The winner advances to the 11th NAIA Championships, this May 17-20 in South Bend, IN. Walsh won the event in its first varsity season last spring. Walsh enters championship play today off the heels of their fourth tournament win of the season. The Cavs have played in six tournaments. They finished in second place in the two tournaments that they did not win.

The Cavs shot 370, defeating Ohio Northern University by two strokes at the Tiffin University Invitational last Monday. Kelsey Saleet (So., Canton, OH/McKinley) paced the Cavs, shooting 89 and finishing tied for second. Christine Haver (So., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) top right tied for fourth after shooting 91. Meghan Snider (So., Massillon, OH/Jackson) bottom right tied for eighth with a 92. Christina Trbovich (So., Canton, OH/McKinley) tied for 13th with a 98 and Amanda Ulrich (Fr., Avon Lake, OH/HS) tied for 24th with a 103.

Christine Haver leads the Cavs with an 85.6 average per 18 holes. Meghan Snider is next at 88.0.

"Cavs (30-2) Win Tiffin Invitational"

Walsh improved to 30-2 on the year after capturing the Tiffin University Invitational on Monday. The Cavs shot 370, defeating Ohio Northern University by two strokes. Kelsey Saleet (So., Canton, OH/McKinley) paced the Cavs, shooting 89 and finishing tied for second. Christine Haver (So., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) tied for fourth after shooting 91. Meghan Snider (So., Massillon, OH/Jackson) tied for eighth with a 92. Christina Trbovich (So., Canton, OH/McKinley) tied for 13th with a 98 and Amanda Ulrich (Fr., Avon Lake, OH/HS) tied for 24th with an 103.

Next Monday, the Cavs defend their American Mideast Conference and NAIA Region IX championship at the AMC Championships, hosted by Malone College at Zoar Village Golf Course.

"Cavs (23-2) Win at Ohio Dominican"

Walsh improved to 23-2 on the season, after winning the four-team Ohio Dominican University Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The Cavs are idle until October 11, when they play at Tiffin.

Meghan Snider (So., Massillon, OH/Jackson) paced the Cavs with a second place showing (85-86/171). She finished five strokes behind the tourney medalist. Christine Haver (So., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) was right behind Snider, finishing third (86-86/172). Christina Trbovich (So., Canton, OH/McKinley) placed fifth (85-91/181), Kelsey Saleet (So., Canton, OH/McKinley) 10th (97-92/189) and Amanda Ulrich (Fr., Avon Lake, OH/HS) tied for 11th (93-97/190).

Cavs (20-2) Win at Seton Hill/Place Second at Baldwin-Wallace

Walsh improved to 20-2 on the season, after winning the Seton Hill Invitational last Monday and finishing second at Baldwin-Wallace on Sunday. This week, the Cavs play at Ohio Dominican University on Friday (12 pm) and Saturday (7:30 am).

Christine Haver (So., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) earned medalist honors with a 79 at Seton Hill. The Cavs (361) edged second place Malone (364) by three strokes. Kelsey Saleet (So., Canton, OH/McKinley) shot 93, Meghan DiFrancesco (Fr., Canton, OH/St. Thomas Aquinas) 94, Meghan Snider (So., Massillon, OH/Jackson) 95, Andrea Ferriell (So., Hartville, OH/St. Thomas) 102 and Devon Cairns (So., Dellroy, OH/Carrollton) 93.

Christina Trbovich shot 90 (47-43) and tied for 24th with teammates Devon Cairns (48-42) and Meghan DiFrancesco (47-43). Amanda Ulrich (Fr., Avon Lake, OH/HS) shot 89 (45-44) (22nd) and Andrea Ferriell 103 (55-48) (38th) as individuals.

Haver is averaging 84.0 to lead the Cavs. Snider is next at 88.3

"Cavs Second at Baldwin Wallace, Snider Ties for Medalist Honors"

Walsh (20-2) placed two players in the top ten, on their way to a second place finish at the Baldwin-Wallace Lady Jacket Fall Invitational today. The Cavs finished with a total of 337. Olivet College (MI) won the invitational with a 322. Meghan Snider (So., Massillon, OH/Jackson) tied for medalist honors with Olivet's Kristy Latimer with a 78, but lost in a sudden death playoff by one stroke on the third hole. She shot 39 on each nine. Christine Haver (So., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) also garnered a top ten finish, shooting 82 (42-40). Kelsey Saleet (So., Canton, OH/McKinley) tied for 17th with an 87 (45-42). Christina Trbovich (So., Canton, OH/McKinley) shot 90 (47-43) and tied for 24th with teammate Devon Cairns (So., Dellroy, OH/Carrollton) (48-42) and Meghan DiFrancesco (Fr., Canton, OH/St. Thomas Aquinas) (47-43). "Haver's 79 Powers Cavs to Win at Seton Hill"

Christine Haver (So., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) top right earned medalist honors with a 79, in leading the Cavs (361) to a three stroke win over Malone (364) at the Seton Hill Invitational today. Walsh is now 14-1 on the season.

"Cavs Second at St. Vincent Invitational"

Walsh (10-1) finished second at the St. Vincent College Invitational with a team score of 374. Malone College won the event with a score of 361. Seton Hill finished third (383), Washington and Jefferson fourth (427), St. Vincent fifth (432) and Notre Dame (OH) sixth (459).

Christine Haver (So., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) paced the Cavs with an 89.

"Snider, Haver Lead Cavs to Win"

Behind the strong play of Meghan Snider (So., Massillon, OH/Jackson) top right and Christine Haver (So., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) bottom right, Walsh came away with an one-stroke win over Malone College at the Walsh Invitational at Sanctuary Golf Course today. Walsh (5-0) shot a combined total of 356. Malone shot 357, Tiffin 373, Seton Hill 387, Mount Union 391 and Ohio Dominican 406. Tiffin's Kelly Rethman finished as tourney medalist, as she fired an 82.

Snider paced the Cavs with an 83. Haver shot 86. Kelsey Saleet (So., Canton, OH/McKinley) shot 91, Christina Trbovich (So., Canton, OH/McKinley) 96 and Devon Cairns (So., Dellroy, OH/Carrollton) 99. Also scoring for the Cavs as individuals were Meghan DiFrancesco (Fr., Canton, OH/St. Thomas Aquinas) (92), Andrea Ferriell (So., Hartville, OH/St. Thomas) (97) and Amanda Ulrich (Fr., Avon Lake, OH/HS) 104).

The Cavs compete at Saint Vincent College on Thursday.

"Cavs Open Second Season"

Walsh opens it second with a new head coach and first match at home on Monday. Karley Mohler is the new head coach of the defending American Mideast Conference and NAIA Region IX Cavs. The Cavs and the entire AMC will play its matches in the fall for the first time. The winner of the AMC/Region IX Championship qualifies for the NAIA Championships in May of 2005. Walsh opens the season, at home, against AMC foes at Sanctuary Golf Course.

The Cavs return their entire squad from the spring of 2004. Number one Christine Haver (So., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) paced the team, shooting 85.1 last year with a low 18-hole total of 81. Christina Trbovich (So., Canton, OH/McKinley) should play number two. She averaged 93.4, with a low round of 83. Devon Cairns (So., Dellroy, OH/Carrollton) averaged 96.7. She will battle with Kelsey Saleet (So., Canton, OH/McKinley) to play number three. Saleet averaged 98.3 last spring. Meghan Snider (So., Massillon, OH/Jackson) shot 98.7 last year and is a good bet to play number five. Snider, however will receive stiff competition from Andrea Ferriell (So., Hartville, OH/St. Thomas). Ferriell averaged 104.1. Look for newcomers Meghan DiFrancesco (Fr., Canton, OH/St. Thomas Aquinas), Tess Jones (Ligonier, PA/Bishop McCort) and Amanda Ulrich (Fr., Avon Lake, OH/HS) to be in the mix.

Cavs (32-10) Win AMC Championships

In its first year as a full-fledged varsity team, the Walsh Women's Golf Team won the American Mideast Conference championship at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course in Brecksville, Ohio. Walsh shot 375 to win going away. Malone College (414) finished second, Seton Hill (447) third and Saint Vincent College (462) fourth. Walsh will now head to Daytona Beach, Florida for the 10th Annual NAIA Championships, May 25-28.

Christine Haver (Fr., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) paced the Cavs with a 91 and finished tied for first. She lost medalist honors in a playoff. Christina Trbovich (Fr., Canton, OH/McKinley) and Meghan Snider (Fr., Massillon, OH/Jackson) shot 94. Kelsey Saleet (Fr., Canton, OH/McKinley) shot 96 and Devon Cairns (Fr., Dellroy, OH/Carrollton) 97. Haver, Trbovich, Snider and Saleet all earned first team All-AMC honors.

Cavs (29-10) at AMC Championships

Walsh (29-10) is set compete in their first ever AMC Championship event on Thursday at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course in Brecksville, Ohio. The Cavs have been idle since April 24th.

Christine Haver (Fr., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) leads the Cavs with an 84.3 average. Christina Trbovich (Fr., Canton, OH/McKinley) is averaging 93.4, Devon Cairns (Fr., Dellroy, OH/Carrollton) 96.7, Kelsey Saleet (Fr., Canton, OH/McKinley) 98.6, Meghan Snider (Fr., Massillon, OH/Jackson) 100.0 and Andrea Ferriell (Fr., Hartville, OH/St. Thomas Aquinas) 104.1.

Cavs (29-10) Third at Baldwin-Wallace

Walsh (29-10) finished third at the Baldwin-Wallace Yellow Jacket Spring Invitational. The event was shortened to just a nine holes due to the weather. Christine Haver (Fr., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) top right shot 83 and tied with Capital University's Julie Huffman as medalist.

Meghan Snider (Fr., Massillon, OH/Jackson) finished tied for 12th (91) and Devon Cairns (Fr., Dellroy, OH/Carrollton) tied for 25th with a 97. Christina Trbovich (Fr., Canton, OH/McKinley) shot 98 and tied for 27th. Cavs (22-8) Fourth at Mount Union Invitational

Walsh (22-8) finished fourth at the Mount Union Invitational last week. Christina Trbovich (Fr., Canton, OH/McKinley) paced the Cavs, as she tied for third place after shooting 169 (86-83). Christine Haver (Fr., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) shot 177 (89-88) and finished 11th. Devon Cairns (Fr., Dellroy, OH/Carrollton) finished 24th with a 186 (94-92), Kelsey Saleet (Fr., Canton, OH/McKinley) placed 24th with a 186 (94-92) and Andrea Ferriell (Fr., Hartville, OH/St. Thomas Aquinas) shot 203 (98-105) and placed 203.

The Cavs are at Baldwin-Wallace on Saturday and Sunday.

Cavs Win Again

Walsh improved to 17-5, after winning the rain shortened Walsh Invitational yesterday. The event was cut to nine holes after a steady rain fall. Walsh (181) defeated Malone College (187) by six strokes and Mount Union College (188) by seven strokes. Christine Haver (Fr., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) top right captured medalist honors after shooting a 38. She has won two tournaments this year. Christina Trbovich (Fr., Canton, OH/McKinley) shot 47, Kelsey Saleet (Fr., Canton, OH/McKinley) and Devon Cairns (Fr., Dellroy, OH/Carrollton) each shot a 48 and Andrea Ferriell (Fr., Hartville, OH/St. Thomas Aquinas) fired a 57.

The Cavs are at Muskingum today.

Walsh (15-5) captured the Malone College Invitational last Tuesday and Christine Haver (Fr., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) top right captured medalist honors. Haver fired an 85 to win medalist honors by two strokes. The Cavs defeated second place Ohio Northern by six strokes.

There has been a schedule change for this week. Walsh will be at home (Prestiwck CC) on Monday for the Walsh Invitational and play at Muskingum College on Tuesday. The Cavs were originally scheduled to play at home on Monday and Tuesday. The Cavs play at Mount Union on Saturday and Sunday.

Cavs Finish 6th at Capital's Purple and White Invitational/at Malone on Tuesday

Walsh (10-5) finished sixth at the Capital University Purple and White Invitational. Walsh is at Malone on Tuesday.

Walsh finished just one stroke behind fifth place Malone with their two-day total of 761. Wilmington College won the invitational. Christine Haver (Fr., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) top right paced the Cavs with an eighth place finish. Haver shot an opening round 94, but rebounded with an 81 on Saturday to finish with a two-day total of 175. Devon Cairns (Fr., Dellroy, OH/Carrollton) finished 28th, after shooting 98-95 (193). Christina Trbovich (Fr., Canton, OH/McKinley) was 29th (102-93=195), Kelsey Saleet (Fr., Canton, OH/McKinley) placed 32nd (105-93=198) and Andrea Ferriell (Fr., Hartville, OH/St. Thomas Aquinas) was 48th (108-107=215).

Cavs Win Wilmington Invitational

Walsh (4-0) won its first ever team competition, with a six-stroke win at the Wilmington College Invitational on Sunday. This week, the Cavs play at the Capital University Purple and White Invitational on Friday (10 a.m.) and Saturday (10:30 a.m.).

Christine Haver (Fr., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) top right finished second, just two strokes behind tournament medalist Tangy Sheil at Wilmington. She fired a 79. Andrea Ferriell (Fr., Hartville, OH/St. Thomas Aquinas) tied for 8th with a 96. Christina Trbovich (Fr., Canton, OH/McKinley), Kelsey Saleet (Fr., Canton, OH/McKinley) and Devon Cairns (Fr., Dellroy, OH/Carrollton) all tied for 12th with a 98. Meghan Snider (Fr., Massillon, OH/Jackson) shot 103 and tied for 17th.
