"Paul Vincent Earns NAIA All-American Honors"

Walsh's Paul Vincent (Sr., Garrettsville, OH/Garfield) top right finished 29th at the NAIA National Championships in Louisville, KY today, to earn NAIA All-American honors. The top 30 earn NAIA All-American. Vincent ran an outstanding race, and finished in a time of 25:33.10. He is the first Walsh harrier to earn All-American honors since Mike Iacofano in 1990. Ryan Collins (Sr., Creston, OH/Norwayne) bottom right placed 152nd (27:17.65).

"Paul Vincent, Ryan Collins Ready For Nationals"

Walsh's (50-22) lone qualifiers; Paul Vincent (Sr., Garrettsville, OH/Garfield) top right and Ryan Collins (Sr., Creston, OH/Norwayne) bottom right are preparing for this Saturday's NAIA National Meet in Louisville, Kentucky. Vincent will be making his second straight trip to the Blue Grass. Vincent qualified with a fourth place finish at the AMC/Region IX meet. Collins is making his first appearance at nationals. He qualified with a 26th place finish.

"Cavs 5th at AMC/Region IX Meet/Paul Vincent, Ryan Collins Qualify"

Walsh (50-22) finished fifth at the AMC/Region IX championship meet held in Latrobe, PA on Saturday. Malone finished first (48), Shawnee State (73) second, Cedarville (89) third and Saint Vincent (98) fourth. The Cavs total was 140. The top four teams qualify for nationals in Louisville, Kentucky on November 20. There is still an outside chance that the Cavs will receive an at-large bid. Paul Vincent (Sr., Garrettsville, OH/Garfield) top right will make his second straight trip to the Blue Grass state for the big meet. Vincent finished 4th in a time of 26:32. Ryan Collins (Sr., Creston, OH/Norwayne) bottom right, who finished 26th (28:01), has also qualified. This will be his first appearance at nationals. Sean McBride (So., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) placed 33rd (28:18), Josh Rogers (Fr., Hartville, OH/Lake) 36th (28:22), Nick Aukerman (Sr., East Canton, OH/HS) 41st (28:27) and Steve Mackle (Jr., Malvern, OH/HS) 51st (28:51).

Cavs (41-18) at AMC Championships

Walsh travels to Latrobe, PA for the American Mideast Conference championships this Saturday. The meet is hosted by Seton Hill College and begins at 11 am. Walsh finished fourth last season. The winner advances to the NAIA Championships in Louisville, Kentucky on November 20.

The Cavs tuned-up for the big meet, by hosting a 4 x 3 relay on Saturday. Notre Dame College won the event. The Blue Falcons quartet posted a time of 39:03. Walsh's top team, comprised of Paul Vincent (Sr., Garrettsville, OH/Garfield), Ryan Collins (Sr., Creston, OH/Norwayne), Josh Rogers (Fr., Hartville, OH/Lake) and Gregg Strong (So., Mineral City, OH/Tusky Valley) finished second in a time of 39:06.

"Notre Dame Wins Relay"

Notre Dame College won the Cavs 4 x 3 relay. The Blue Falcons quartet posted a time of 39:03. "Cavs 9th at Southeastern Classic"

Walsh (41-18) placed ninth, in a field of 22 teams, at the Southeastern Classic at Georgetown College on Saturday. Paul Vincent (Sr., Garrettsville, OH/Garfield) top right paced the Cavs with a ninth place finish in a time of 26:29. Sean McBride (So., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) bottom right was next for the Cavs, placing 42nd (27:48). Nick Aukerman (Sr., East Canton, OH/HS) was 64th (28:37), Kevin Cooper (Sr., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) placed 69th (28:44) and Steve Mackle (Jr., Malvern, OH/HS) finished 70th (28:45).

In a tune-up for the American Mideast Conference meet on November 6, the Cavs host Notre Dame College, Ursuline College and Seton Hill College in a 4x3 relay next Saturday at 11 am.

Cavs (28-10) at Georgetown's SE Classic

Walsh (28-10) is back in action after an off week. The Cavs will compete in the 21-team Southeastern Classic at Georgetown College in Kentucky. The race features many of the NAIA's top teams and starts at 9 am.

"Cavs 6th at All-Ohio Meet"

Walsh (28-10) finished 6th at All-Ohio Intercollegiate Championships at Ohio Wesleyan University today. Paul Vincent (Sr., Garrettsville, OH/Garfield) top right paced the Cavs with a seventh place finish in a time of 26:51.4

"Cavs (25-5) Prepare For All-Ohio Meet"

Walsh (25-5) returned to action by winning the five-team classic. The men also combined with the Walsh women to win the co-ed event. Paul Vincent (Sr., Garrettsville, OH/Garfield) top right took first place in a time of 15:44. Sean McBride (So., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) bottom right finished fourth (16:35), Nick Aukerman (Sr., East Canton, OH/HS) eighth (16:44) and Steve Mackle (Jr., Malvern, OH/HS) ninth (16:48).

This Friday, the Cavs compete at the All-Ohio Intercollegiate Championships in Delaware, Ohio. Walsh finished fifth last year, their best finish since 1989.

Cavs (21-5) Idle Last Week/Home on Friday

Walsh (21-5) returns to action this Friday, after an off week. The Cavs will host Bethel College, Glenville State, Ursuline College, Notre Dame College and Malone on Friday at 5 pm, with their annual co-ed classic.

"Walsh Places 5th at National Catholic Meet"

Walsh (21-5) placed fifth at the National Catholic Meet at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana yesterday. The Cavs were ninth last year. Paul Vincent (Sr. Garrettsvillle, OH/Garfield) paced the Cavs with a ninth place finish (26:13). Steve Mackle (Jr., Malvern, OH/HS) finished 17th (27:20), Sean McBride (So., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) 23rd (27:27), Nick Aukerman (Sr., East Canton, OH/HS) 52nd (28:12), Ryan Collins (Jr., Creston, OH/Norwayne) 59th (28:12), Adam Vincent (So., Garrettsvillle, OH/Garfield) 67th (28:34) and Josh Rogers (Fr. Hartville, OH/Lake) 68th (28:37).

The Cavs are idle this week.

"Cavs (6-1) at National Catholic Meet in South Bend"

Walsh (6-1) was idle last week. They will compete at the prestigious National Catholic Meet at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana this Friday. Walsh finished 9th last season.

Cavs Finish 2nd at Seton Hill Invitational

Walsh (6-1) finished second at the eight-team Seton Hill University Invitational on Saturday. Saint Vincent College (23) won the event. The Cavs (58) finished well ahead of third place Geneva College (77). Senior Paul Vincent (Garrettsvillle, OH/Garfield) top right, who represented the Cavs at the NAIA National Championships last season, paced the Cavs with a second place finish (26:55). Steve Mackle (Jr., Malvern, OH/HS) finished 10th (28:29), Sean McBride (So., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) 12th (28:32), Ryan Collins (Jr., Creston, OH/Norwayne) 17th (28:51) and Adam Vincent (So., Garrettsvillle, OH/Garfield) 19th (29:10). The Cavs are idle this week.

Cavs Open at Seton Hill

Walsh opens its 29th season at Seton Hill College (Greensburg, PA) on Saturday at 11 am. Head Coach Dan McCallion returns for his 28th year as head coach. The Cavs return 10 letter winners and one national qualifier from their 43-20 team of 2003. Paul Vincent (Sr., Garrettsville, OH/Garfield) top right qualified for the NAIA Championships last season.
