Cavs 8th at AMC/Region IX Meet

Walsh (38-36) finished seventh at the American Mideast Conference/NAIA Region IX championship meet held in Latrobe, PA on Saturday. Malone College won the event. Lisa Mielke (Sr., Sandusky, OH/Saint Mary) top right paced the Cavs with a 35th place finish (20:52). Other Walsh finishes; Holly Pillitere (Fr., Akron, OH/Coventry) bottom right was 42nd (21:11), Lindsay Cooper (Fr., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) 45th, (21:15), Tess Francis (So., Waterloo, OH/Randolph) 69th (22:36), Michelle Hrdlicka (Fr., Lakewood, OH/HS) 82nd (23:27) and Mary Moauro (Fr., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) 91st (24:48 ).

Cavs (31-29) at AMC Championships

Walsh travels to Greensburg, PA for the American Mideast Conference championships this Saturday. The meet is hosted by Seton Hill College and begins at 11 am. Walsh finished fourth last season. The winner advances to the NAIA Championships in Louisville, Kentucky on November 20.

The Cavs tuned-up for the big meet, by hosting a 4 x 3 relay on Saturday. Seton Hill College finished first and second in the four-school, 4 x 3 event. Seton Hill's top quartet finished in a time of 49:55. Walsh finished third in a time of 51:34. Katie Wirtz (Fr., Lakewood, OH/HS), Tess Francis (So., Waterloo, OH/Randolph), Michelle Hrdlicka (Fr., Lakewood, OH/HS) and Holly Pillitere (Fr., Akron, OH/Coventry) comprised Walsh's top team.

"Seton Hill Wins Walsh 4 x 3 Relay"

Seton Hill College finished first and second in the four-school, 4 x 3 relay held at Walsh today. Seton Hill's top quartet finished in a time of 49:55. Walsh finished third in a time of 51:34. Katie Wirtz (Fr., Lakewood, OH/HS) top right, Tess Francis (So., Waterloo, OH/Randolph) bottom right, Michelle Hrdlicka (Fr., Lakewood, OH/HS) and Holly Pillitere (Fr., Akron, OH/Coventry) comprised Walsh's top team.

"Cavs 8th at Southeastern Classic"

Walsh (31-29) finished 7th, in a field of 21 teams, at the Southeastern Classic in Georgetown, Kentucky yesterday. Lisa Mielke (Sr., Sandusky, OH/Saint Mary) paced the Cavs with a 43rd place finish in a time of 20:26. Holly Pillitere (Fr., Akron, OH/Coventry) was next, placing 53rd (20:59), Katie Wirtz (Fr., Lakewood, OH/HS) finished 55th (21:05), Lindsay Cooper (Fr., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) 81st (21:54) and Ashley Miller (So., Badger,OH/Kinsman) was 110 (22:47).

In a tune-up for the American Mideast Conference meet on November 6, the Cavs host Notre Dame College, Ursuline College and Seton Hill College in a 4x3 relay next Saturday at 11 am.

Cavs (20-22) at Georgetown's SE Classic

Walsh (20-22) is back in action after an off week. The Cavs will compete in the 21-team Southeastern Classic at Georgetown College in Kentucky. The race features many of the NAIA's top teams and starts at 9 am.

"Cavs 7th at All-Ohio Meet"

Walsh (20-22) placed 7th at the All-Ohio Intercollegiate Championships in Delaware, Ohio today. Lindsay Cooper (Fr., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) paced the Cavs with a 26th place finish in a time of 21:22.7.

"Cavs (17-16) Get Ready For All-Ohio Meet"

Walsh (17-16) returned to action with a third place finish at home on Friday. The women did combine with the Walsh men to win the Cavs Co-Ed Classic. This week, the Cavs compete at the All-Ohio Intercollegiate Championships in Delaware, Ohio on Friday. The Cavs placed fourth last year.

Walsh took places five through eight, with Holly Pillitere's (Fr., Akron, OH/Coventry) top right fifth place (20:26) leading the way. Lisa Mielke (Sr., Sandusky, OH/Saint Mary) bottom right placed sixth (20:31). Lindsay Cooper (Fr., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) placed seventh (20:40) and Katie Wirtz (Fr., Lakewood, OH/HS) eighth (20:47).

Cavs (15-14) Idle Last Week/Home on Friday

Walsh (15-14) returns to action this Friday, after an off week. The Cavs will host Bethel College, Glenville State, Ursuline College, Notre Dame College and Malone on Friday at 5 pm, with their annual co-ed classic.

"Walsh Places 14th at National Catholic Meet"

Walsh (15-14) finished 14th at the National Catholic Meet at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana yesterday. Katie Wirtz (Fr., Lakewood, OH/HS) paced the Cavs with a 38th place finish (20:27). Holly Pillitere (Akron, OH/Coventry) finished 45th (20;29), Lisa Mielke (Sr., Sandusky, OH/St. Mary) 50th (20:39), Lindsay Cooper (Fr., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) 69th (21:02), Ashley Miller (So., Badger, OH/Kinsman) 109th (22:17), Tess Francis (So., Waterloo, OH/Randolph) 126th (23:18), Michelle Hrdlicka (Fr., Lakewood, OH/HS) 133rd (23:58) and Erin Moloney (Sr., Parma, OH/Padua Franciscan) 24:32.

The Cavs are idle this week.

"Cavs (8-1) at National Catholic Meet in South Bend"

Walsh (8-1) was idle last week. They will compete at the prestigious National Catholic Meet at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana this Friday. Walsh finished 10th last season.

Cavs Finish 2nd at Seton Hill Invitational

Walsh (8-1) finished second at the 10-team Seton Hill University Invitational on Saturday. Geneva College (42) won the event. The Cavs (69) edged third place Seton Hill University (77) by four points. Freshman Holly Pillitere (Akron, OH/Coventry) top right finished 6th (20:51) in her first collegiate meet to pace the Cavaliers. Lisa Mielke (Sr., Sandusky, OH/St. Mary) and Lindsay Cooper (Fr., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) tied for 7th (20:52). Katie Wirtz (Fr., Lakewood, OH/HS) finished 15th (21:30) and Tess Francis (So., Waterloo, OH/Randolph) 39th (23:09). The Cavs are idle this week.

Cavs Open at Seton Hill

Walsh opens its 23rd season at Seton Hill College (Greensburg, PA) on Saturday at 10 am. Head Coach Al Campbell returns for his sixth year. The Cavs return seven letter winners from their 2003 team. Walsh finished 44-26 and qualified Sara Piersante (Sr., Canfield, OH/HS) for nationals. Piersante graduated last spring.
