"Greller, Patton to Compete at NAIA Nationals"

Walsh will send Sheila Greller (Sr., Fairview Park, OH/Magnificat) (Pictured top right) and Meghan Patton (So., Parma, OH/Holy Name) (Pictured bottom right) to compete at the NAIA National Championships, this weekend in Louisville, Kentucky, May 22-24. Greller will compete in the discus and Patton in the 400 hurdles. Greller qualified in the discus last year and is a four-time qualifier.

Cavs 7th at AMC Meet/Scheeser 2nd Team All-AMC

Walsh finished seventh at the American Mideast Conference championships, held at Cedarville University on Friday and Saturday. Rain and snow hampered the championships both days. Jessica Scheeser (Sr., Green, OH/HS) (Pictured top right) was named second team All-AMC, after her second place finish in the 400m hurdles (1.10.70).

Tess Francis (So., Randolph, OH/Waterloo) finished third in the 400m hurdles (1.10.70). Sheila Greller (Sr., Fairview Park, OH/Magnificat) was third in the discus (124-06) and Amy Stermole (Fr., North Ridgeville, OH/HS) was fourth in the shot put (35-10.25).

"Cavs 7th at AMC Championships"

"Cavs Sixth After First Day at AMC Championships"

Walsh is in sixth place, after the first day of competition at the American Mideast Conference Championships at Cedarville University. The Cavs have 21 points. "Cavs Perform Well at Malone/Slippery Rock, AMC Meet Next"

Walsh performed well at Malone and Slippery Rock last week. This week, the compete at the American Mideast Conference championships at Cedarville University on Friday and Saturday. The Cavs were fourth last year.

Walsh finished second at the Malone College Invitational on Tuesday in a tri-meet with Mount Union College. The Cavs captured seven first-place finishes. Jessica Scheeser (Sr., Green, OH/HS) placed first in the 100m hurdles (15.9), Ebony Williams (Fr., Akron, OH/Firestone) finished first in the high jump (5'0"), Meghan Patton (So., Parma, OH/Holy Name) was first in the 400m (61.1) and 400m hurdles (67.8), Mikka Ray (So., Minerva, OH/HS) was first in the triple jump (33'6") and Sheila Greller (Sr., Fairview Park, OH/Magnificat) was first in the hammer (126'4") and discus (121'2"). Lindsey Walker (So., Canton, OH/GlenOak) placed second in the 400m (61.3) and Nicole Rogers (So., East Canton, OH/HS) third (62.8).

"Patton Wins 400 H at Slippery Rock"

Meghan Patton (So., Parma, OH/Holy Name) (Pictured top right) finished first in the 400m hurdles (65.92) at the Slippery Rock Invitational today, and is a provisional qualifier for nationals. Jessica Scheeser (Sr., Green, OH/HS) finished fourth in the long jump (16'7.25"), Sheila Greller (Sr., Fairview Park, OH/Magnificat) was fifth in the discus (123'4"), Casey Fischer (Fr., Aurora, OH/HS) placed sixth in the 200m (27.82) and Walsh's 4 x 100m relay team (Legrair, Fischer, Lindsey Walker (So., Canton, OH/GlenOak), Kristen Boyne (Sr., Parma, OH/Padua Franciscan) finished fifth (51.40).

"Patton Proviosional Qualifier/Cavs Fare Well at Mount Union Open"

Walsh performed well at Mount Union College this past weekend. Meghan Patton (So., Parma, OH/Holy Name) (Pictured top right) finished first in the 400m hurdles (1:05.75) and is a national provisional qualifier. The Cavs grabbed a pair of second place finishes in the 4 x 100 relay and 4 x 400 relay. The 4 x 400 team won in a time of 4:09.40, with Casey Fischer (Fr., Aurora, OH/HS), Jessica LeGrair (So., Copley,OH/HS), Jessica Scheeser (Sr., Green, OH/HS) and Lindsey Walker (So., Canton, OH/GlenOak) comprising the squad. Fischer, Legrair, Scheeser and Walker comprised the 4 x 100 team and finished first in a time of 51.11. Scheeser was also fourth in the 100m h (16.63) and fourth in the 400m h (1:09.58). Sheila Greller (Sr., Fairview Park, OH/Magnificat) placed third in the shot put (11.0) and Sarah Richards (Jr., East Canton, OH/HS) was third in the discus (126-10).

This week, the Cavs are at Malone on Tuesday and at Slippery Rock on Saturday.

"Cavs Cancelled at Wooster"

Walsh's scheduled meet at the College of Wooster was cancelled last Saturday. This week, Walsh competes at Thiel College on Wednesday and at Mount Union College on Saturday.

"Greller Qualifies For Nationals in Discus"

Walsh senior Sheila Greller (Fairview Park, OH/Magnificat) has qualified for the 25th Annual NAIA Track Championships in May (26-28) in the discus. Greller placed first, with a toss of 139' at the Charleston Southern Buccaneer Iniational this past weekend. Overall, the Cavs fared well. Jessica Scheeser (Sr., Green, OH/HS) was fourth in the 400h (72.35) and sixth in the 100h (17.35). Tess Francis (So., Randolph, OH/Waterloo) finished fifth in the 400h (72.96) and Meghan Patton (So., Parma, OH/Holy Name) finished sixth in the 400m (61.96).

"Mikka Ray Smashes Triple Jump Mark"

Mikka Ray (So., Minerva, OH/HS) set a new Walsh University indoor record in the triple jump at Mount Union College on Saturday. Ray's 35.02.75 finish shattered Leslie Ryman's record of 34.08.

"Cavs (10-3) at Kent State Tune-up"

Walsh competed at the Kent State Tune-up over the weekend. Jessica Scheeser (Sr., Green, OH/HS) finished third in the 300m hurdles (48.94). Mikka Ray (So., Minerva, OH/HS) was 11th in the triple jump (33-01.00). Lindsey Walker (So., Canton, OH/GlenOak) finished 16th in the 400m (1:02.81).

The Cavs are at Mount Union College this Saturday.

Cavs (10-3) Perform Well at Findlay

Walsh (10-3) performed well at the University of Findlay on Friday. Lindsey Walker (So., Canton, OH/GlenOak) finished third in the 400m (1:02.18) and fourth in the 200m (28.06). Jessica Scheeser (Sr., Green, OH/HS) and Casey Fischer (Fr., Aurora, OH/HS) also fared well. Scheeser finished third in the 55m (9.30) and Fischer was fifth in the 55 m dash (7.91) and in the 200m dash (28.09). Jessica LeGrair (So., Copley, OH/HS) finished fourth in the long jump (16-01.00) and Mikka Ray (So., Minerva, OH/HS) was fourth in the triple jump (32-09.75). Meghan Patton (So., Parma, OH/Holy Name) garnered a fourth place finish in the 800m run (2:26.48) and Ebony Williams (Fr., Akron, OH/Firestone) finished fourth in the highjump (4-11.00). The Cavs 4 x 400 relay team, Walker, Rogers, Scheeser and Patton finished third in a time of 4:23.14.

The Cavs are at Kent State University this Saturday.

Cavs (10-3) Fourth at Mount Union/Greller Captures Wt. Throw/Two Relay Teams Win

Walsh (10-3) finished fourth at the Mount Union College Invitational on Saturday. Senior Sheila Greller (Fairview Park, OH/Magnificat) captured the weight throw, with a toss of 45'. The Cavs also produced winners in the 4 x 160 and 4 x 400 meter relays. Lindsey Walker (So., Canton, OH/GlenOak), Jessica LeGrair (So., Copley, OH/HS), Jessica Scheeser (Sr., Green, OH/HS) and Casey Fischer (Fr., Aurora, OH/HS) won the 4 x 160 in a time of 1:27.3. Walker and Scheeser then teamed with Nicole Rogers (Sr., Akron, OH/Green) and Meghan Patton (So., Parma, OH/Holy Name) to win the 4 x 400 in a time of 4:16.0

The Cavs are at the University of Findlay on Friday.

"Cavs (7-0) Win at Case Western Reserve/At Mount Union Saturday

The Walsh women (7-0) won the seven team meet at Case Western Reserve University on Saturday. This Saturday, the Cavs travel to Mount Union College.

The women garnered four first place finishes at Case. Jessica Scheeser (Jr., Green, OH/HS) finished first in the 55 m hurdles (9.27) and Ebony Williams (Fr., Akron, OH/Firestone) was first in the high jump (4-11.75). The Cavs also posted relay team wins in the 4 x 200 (1:52.62) and the 4 x 400 (4:18.77). Casey Fischer (Fr., Aurora, OH/HS), Jessica LeGrair (So., Copley, OH/HS), Mikka Ray (So., Minerva, OH/HS) and Lindsey Walker (So., Canton, OH/GlenOak) comprised the winning 4 x 200 team. Walker, Scheeser, Meghan Patton (So., Parma, OH/Holy Name) and Nicole Rogers (So., East Canton, OH/HS) made up the 4 x 400 team.
