"Cavs 5th at NAIA Region IX Tournament"

Walsh (48-16) finished fifth at the NAIA Region IX Tournament, held at Apple Valley Golf Course in Howard, Ohio. Walsh finished with a 72-hole total of 914. Malone College won the championship, with a 72-hole total of 872.

David Brodie (So., Newton Stewart, Scotland/Douglas Ewart) (Pictured top right) earned All-AMC, NAIA Region IX honors with a third place finish and 72-hole total of 216 (71-69-76). Chris Sigler (Jr., Wooster, OH/HS) finished fourth with a 72-hole total of 225 (76-75-74). David Rose (So., Marietta, OH/HS) was 26th (237/79-82-76), Kevin Tournoux (Fr., Lakewood, OH/HS) placed 29th (239/79-81-79) and Alan Dattilio (So., Salem, OH/West Branch) finished 32nd (242/84-82-76).

"Cavs (39-12) Third at Rain Shortened Malone Invitational"

Walsh (39-12) finished third at the rain shortened Malone College Invitational last Friday. Saturday's 18 holes were cancelled due to rain and snow. The Cavs finished with total of 304, eight strokes behind champion Malone (296).

The Cavs were paced by David Brodie (So., Newton Stewart, Scotland/Douglas Ewart) (Pictured top right) who shot a 74. Chris Sigler (Jr., Wooster, OH/HS) was right behind Brodie with a 75. Kevin Tournoux (Fr., Lakewood, OH/HS) was next for the Cavs with a 77. David Rose (So., Marietta, OH/HS) shot 78 and Michael DiFabbio (Steubenville, OH/Central Catholic) 83. Alan Dattilio (So., Salem, OH/West Branch) scored 78 as an individual, as did Mike Lenartowicz (Fr., Canton, OH/Perry).

The Cavs are idle until next week, when they compete in the NAIA Region IX Championships in Howard, Ohio at Apple Valley Golf Course, May 4-6. The Cavs finished fourth last year.

"Cavs (29-10) Fourth at Mt. Vernon/Malone Invite Next"

Walsh (29-10) finished fourth at the Mount Vernon Nazarene Golf Classic, held at Apple Valley Golf Course, on Friday and Saturday in Howard, Ohio. The Cavs finished with a two-day total of 618, 13 strokes behind champion Tiffin University (605). The Cavs were paced by Chris Sigler (Jr., Wooster, OH/HS), who finished with a two-day total of 152 (75-77). David Brodie (So., Newton Stewart, Scotland/Douglas Ewart) was right behind Sigler, at 153 (75-78). David Rose (So., Marietta, OH/HS) was next for the Cavs at 154 (77-77). Michael DiFabbio (Steubenville, OH/Central Catholic) shot 165 (81-84), Alan Dattilio (So., Salem, OH/West Branch) 162 (84-78) and Kevin Tournoux (Fr., Lakewood, OH/HS) scored 162 (84-78).

The Cavs play in the Malone College Invitational, at Tannenhauf Golf Course, in Alliance on Friday and Saturday.

"Cavs Fourth at Mount Vernon Nazarene Golf Classic"

Walsh (29-10) finished fourth at the Mount Vernon Nazarene Golf Classic, held at Apple Valley Golf Course, on Friday and Saturday in Howard, Ohio. The Cavs finished with a two-day total of 618, 13 strokes behind champion Tiffin University (605). The Cavs were paced by Chris Sigler (Jr., Wooster, OH/HS), who finished with a two-day total of 152 (75-77). David Brodie (So., Newton Stewart, Scotland/Douglas Ewart) was right behind Sigler, at 153 (75-78). David Rose (So., Marietta, OH/HS) was next for the Cavs at 154 (77-77). Michael DiFabbio (Steubenville, OH/Central Catholic) shot 165 (81-84), Alan Dattilio (So., Salem, OH/West Branch) 162 (84-78) and Kevin Tournoux (Fr., Lakewood, OH/HS) scored 162 (84-78).

The Cavs play in the Malone College Invitational, at Tannenhauf Golf Course, in Alliance on Friday and Saturday.

"Brodie Medalist, Cavs Place 3rd in Iinvitational"

Walsh's (23-7) David Brodie (So., Newton Stewart, Scotland/Douglas Ewart) (Pictured to right) captured medalist honors in the Walsh Invitational. Brodie recorded a two-day total of 152 (76-76), winning by three strokes. Malone College (631) won the invitational, with Walsh finishing third (640), nine strokes back. Tiffin University was second (635), five strokes back. Chris Sigler (Jr., Wooster, OH/HS) (82-80) and Michael DiFabbio (Steubenville, OH/Central Catholic) (77-85) finished tied for 15th at 162. David Rose (So., Marietta, OH/HS) tied 24th (79-85=164) and Alan Dattilio (So., Salem, OH/West Branch) tied for 38th (84-90=174).

Walsh's Kevin Tournoux (Fr., Lakewood, OH/HS) finished 27th (78-88=166) and Mike Lenartowicz (Fr., Canton, OH/Perry) shot 182 (92-90).

The Cavs are at Mount Vernon Nazarene, at Apple Valley Golf Course on Friday and Saturday.

"Cavs (18-5) Sigler Fires 75/Team Places Fourth at UC/UD Invitational"

Walsh (18-5) finished in fourth place, after shooting 312 last Tuesday in the final round of the University of Cincinnati/University of Dayton Invitational, held at the Golf Club at Yankee Trace in Dayton. The Cavs had a two-day total of 626. IUPUI finished first, shooting 604. The University of Cincinnati finished second (606) and the University of Dayton third (611). After shooting an opening round 77, Chris Sigler (Jr., Wooster, OH/HS) fired a 75 in the final round to finish tied for fourth with a two-day today of 152. David Brodie (So., Newton Stewart, Scotland/Douglas Ewart) finished tied for 10th, after shooting a second round 78 and finishing at 154. David Rose (So., Marietta, OH/HS) shot 79 the final day and tied for 18th with a total of 159. Alan Dattilio (So., Salem, OH/West Branch) tied for 22nd, after shooting 80 in the final round and finishing at 161 and Michael DiFabbio (Steubenville, OH/Central Catholic) shot 86 in the final round and placed 29th, with a two-day total of 171.

This Monday and Tuesday, the Cavs host play at Prestwick Country Club on Monday (10 am) and at Raintree Golf Course on Tuesday (8 am).

"Sigler Fires 75/Cavs Place Fourth at UC/UD Invitational"

Walsh (18-5) finished in fourth place, after shooting 312 today in the final round of the University of Cincinnati/University of Dayton Invitational, held at the Golf Club at Yankee Trace in Dayton. The Cavs had a two-day total of 626. IUPUI finished first, shooting 604. The University of Cincinnati finished second (606) and the University of Dayton third (611). After shooting an opening round 77, Chris Sigler (Jr., Wooster, OH/HS) fired a 75 today, to finish tied for fourth with a two-day today of 152. David Rose (So., Marietta, OH/HS) shot 79 today and tied for 18th with a total of 159. Alan Dattilio (So., Salem, OH/West Branch) tied for 22nd, after shooting 80 today and finishing at 161 and Michael DiFabbio (Steubenville, OH/Central Catholic) shot 86 today and placed 29th, with a two-day total of 171.

"Cavs Shoot 314/Fourth at UC/UD Invitational"

Walsh shot 314, good for fourth place after the first round of the University of Cincinnati/University of Dayton Invitational held in Cincinnati today. The Cavs are 18 strokes off the pace and one stroke behind third place Butler University. Round two, slated for tomorrow, will be held at Dayton. David Brodie (So., Newton Stewart, Scotland/Douglas Ewart) (Pictured top right) is tied for ninth, after shooting an opening round 76 (38-38). Chris Sigler (Jr., Wooster, OH/Triway) is tied for 15th, after an opening round 77 (39-38). David Rose (So., Marietta, OH/HS) shot 80 (40-40) and is tied for 20th. Alan Dattilio (So., Salem, OH/West Branch) (Pictured bottom right) shot 81 (40-41) and is tied for 22 and Michael DiFabbio (Steubenville, OH/Central Catholic) fired an 85 (44-41) to place 30th.

"Cavs (16-2) Win Weather Shortened Kenyon Cup Invitational"

While playing in less than ideal conditions, Walsh (16-2) won the weather shortened Kenyon College Spring Invitational, played at Apple Valley Golf Course. Cold and windy conditions cut the event from 36 holes to 18 holes. Snow covered the course on Saturday, forcing the teams to play 18 holes on Sunday, in soggy and windy conditions. Walsh shot 311, defeating the College of Wooster by three strokes (314). Muskingum College finished third with a team total of 321.

Five players, including Walsh's David Brodie (So., Newton Stewart, Scotland/Douglas Ewart) (Pictured top right) and Alan Dattilio (So., Salem, OH/West Branch) (Pictured bottom right), shot 77 to tie for medalist honors. Wooster's Michael Tilden won the playoff. Brodie and Dattilio each shot 40-37. David Rose (So., Marietta, OH/HS) finished sixth, after shooting 78 (39-39). Chris Sigler (Jr., Wooster, OH/Triway) was ninth with a 79 (40-39) and Michael DiFabbio (Steubenville, OH/Central Catholic) fired an 81 (41-40) to place 19th.

The Cavs compete in the 36-hole Cincinnati/Dayton Invitational on Monday and Tuesday.

"Cavs Third at Malone/Brodie Fires 70"

Walsh (6-2) finished in third place, 20 strokes back off Malone, in the Malone Golf Invitational. The final 18 holes were played yesterday at Zoar Village Golf Course. Walsh shot 605 (30-7-298) for the two-day event. David Brodie (So., Newton Stewart, Scotland/Douglas Ewart) finished with a 147 (77-70), after shooting 70 yesterday. After an opening round 72, Chris Sigler (Jr., Wooster, OH/Triway) shot 79 yesterday and finished 151. David Rose (So., Marietta, OH/HS) continued to play well, after firing a personal low of 76 on Friday, Rose chopped a stroke off and shot 75 yesterday to total 151. Michael DiFabbio (Steubenville, OH/Central Catholic) shot 75 yesterday and finished 157 (82-75) and Alan Dattilio (So., Salem, OH/West Branch) followed his 84 on Friday with a 78 yesterday to finish at 162. The Cavs "B" team finished 7th at 659. Chad Coombes (So., Medina, OH/Buckeye) totaled 157 (80-77). Kevin Tournoux (Fr., Lakewood, OH/HS) rebounded from an opening round 85, to shoot 79 yesterday and finish 164. Mike Lenartowicz (Fr., Canton, OH/Perry) shot 166 (80-86) and David Russell (So., Glasgow, Scotland/Cumbernauld) 172 (84-88).

"Sigler Fires 72 at Malone/Cavs Third 11 Strokes Back"

Walsh's Chris Sigler (Jr., Wooster, OH/Triway) top right fired an opening round 72 and is tied for the lead with Malone's Keith Cunningham, after the first round of the Malone Golf Invitational at Zoar Village Golf Course. Sigler finished with a birdie to tie Cunningham. The final 18 holes will be played today. Malone holds the lead, shooting 296. Walsh is third, 11 strokes back, at 307. Walsh's "A" team tees off at 12:48 pm, with the "B" teeing off at 10:48 am.

Walsh's "A" team performed well. David Rose (So., Marietta, OH/HS) shot a personal low of 76, David Brodie (So., Newton Stewart, Scotland/Douglas Ewart) 77, Michael DiFabbio (Stuebenville, OH/Central Catholic) 82 and Alan Dattilio (So., Salem, OH/West Branch) 84. The Cavs "B" team shot 329 and are in 7th place. Chad Coombes (So., Medina, OH/Buckeye) and Mike Lenartowicz (Fr., Canton, OH/Perry) each shot 80. David Russell (So., Glasgow, Scotland/Cumbernauld) shot 84 and Kevin Tournoux (Fr., Lakewood, OH/HS) 85.

"Cavs Open Season at Malone"

Walsh opens the new season at the Malone College-Zoar Invitational on Friday and Saturday. Play begins on Friday at 8 am at the Zoar Village Golf Course in Zoar, Ohio.

"Sigler Medalist, Cavs Win Malone Invitational"

Junior Chris Sigler (Wooster, OH/Triway) top right captured medalist honors with a 69, as Walsh (8-0) won the Malone Invitational by three strokes over the host Pioneers. The Cavs shot 300 to Malone's 303. Sigler fired a 34 on the front nine and 35 on the back nine.
