"Cavs (24-25) Finish 2nd at AMC/Regional Championship, Fail to Defend Crown/Trbovich First Team AMC/Region IX"

Walsh (24-25) failed to defend their American Mideast Conference/Region IX/X title, finishing second at the championships, played last Monday at Cumberland Trail Golf club in Pataskala, Ohio. Tiffin University finished first, with a score of 328. The Cavs shot 445, 17 strokes behind the Dragons. Tiffin now advances to the NAIA Championships, set next May. Walsh made their first appearance at Nationals last year and has won the AMC crown the last two years.

Christina Trbovich (Jr., Canton, OH/McKinley) paced the Cavs, shooting 84 and finishing fourth and was named first team All-American Mideast Conference/Region IX. Christine Haver (Jr., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) fired an 86 and finished seventh and Tammy Schumacher (So., Whitney Point, NY/HS) finished eighth, after shooting an 87. Both were named second team. Kaley Foster (Fr., Manchester, OH/HS) shot 91 and Andrea Ferriell (Jr., Hartville, OH/Louisville) shot 97.

Haver finishes the fall with an average of 86.0. Tammy Schumacher was next at 86.6, Kaley Foster averaged 88.5, Christina Trbovich 91.0 and Andrea Ferriell 94.6.

"Cavs (17-24) Sixth at Tiffin Invitational/Defend AMC/Region Crown on Monday"

Walsh (17-24) finished sixth at the Tiffin University Invitational, held last Monday at Mohawk Golf Club in Tiffin. Today, Walsh defends its AMC/Region IX/X title at Cumberland Trail Golf club in Pataskala, Ohio. Tee times are set for 9 am for the 18-hole event. The winner advances to the NAIA Championships in May 2006.

The Cavs finished with a total of 354 at Tiffin. The University of Findlay won the event with a low score of 334. Bethel College was second (337) and the host Dragons were third (339). Christine Haver (Jr., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) and Kaley Foster (Fr., Manchester, OH/HS) each shot 87 to pace Walsh. Tammy Schumacher (So., Whitney Point, NY/HS) fired an 88, Meghan DeFrancesco (So., Canton, OH/St. Thomas Aquinas) shot 92 and Christina Trbovich (Jr., Canton, OH/McKinley) 93.

Heading into the AMC/Region championships, Christine Haver leads the Cavs with an average of 86.0. Haver's low round was a 83 at Youngstown State. Tammy Schumacher is next, averaging 86.5, with a low round of 82 at Youngstown State and Kaley Foster is averaging 88.2, with a low round of 83 at Youngstown State.

"Cavs 6th at Tiffin Invitational"

Walsh (17-24) finished sixth at the Tiffin University Invitational, held yesterday at Mohaw Golf Club in Tiffin. The Cavs finished with a total of 354. The University of Findlay won the event with a low score of 334. Bethel College was second (337) and the host Dragons were third (339). Christine Haver (Jr., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) and Kaley Foster (Fr., Manchester, OH/HS) each shot 87 to pace Walsh. Tammy Schumacher (So., Whitney Point, NY/HS) fired an 88, Meghan DeFrancesco (So., Canton, OH/St. Thomas Aquinas) shot 92 and Christina Trbovich (Jr., Canton, OH/McKinley) 93.

The Cavs will defend their American Mideast Conference/Region IX title next Tuesday at Notre Dame College.

"Cavs (13-19) Third in Home Invitational, Haver Earns All-Tourney Honors"

Walsh (13-19) finished third, 10 strokes behind first place Tiffin University, in the Walsh Invitational held at last Monday and Tuesday at the Sanctuary Golf Club in North Canton. The Cavs finished with a two-day total of 704. Walsh's Christine Haver (Jr., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) finished 5th, with a pair of 84's, for a two-day total of 168 and was selected to the All-Tournament Team.

Kaley Foster (Fr., Manchester, OH/HS) shot 176 (92-84) and tied with Christina Trbovich (Jr., Canton, OH/McKinley) (95-81=176) for ninth. Tammy Schumacher (So., Whitney Point, NY/HS) shot 89-85 for 184, Meghan DeFrancesco (So., Canton, OH/St. Thomas Aquinas) scored 96-95 for 191, Andrea Ferriell (Jr., Hartville, OH/Louisville) shot 95-99 for 194 and Stephanie Spitzer (Fr., Akron, OH/Green) shot 103-92 for 195 as an individual.

Walsh travels to Tiffin University today for the Dragons one-day invitational.

"Cavs Third in Walsh Invitational/Haver All-Tourney Team"

Walsh (13-19) finished third, 10 strokes behind first place Tiffin University, in the Walsh Invitational held at Sanctuary Golf Club in North Canton. The Cavs finished with a two-day total of 704. Tiffin won with a 694 and Trevecca Nazarene University finished second with a 701. Trevecca's Kristi Gearhart and Mindy Seigenthaler tied for Medalist with two-day totals of 164. Walsh's Christine Haver (Jr., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) finished 5th, with a pair of 84's, for a two-day total of 168 and was selected to the All-Tournament Team.

Kaley Foster (Fr., Manchester, OH/HS) shot 176 (92-84) and tied with Christina Trbovich (Jr., Canton, OH/McKinley) (95-81=176) for ninth. Tammy Schumacher (So., Whitney Point, NY/HS) shot 89-85 for 184, Meghan DeFrancesco (So., Canton, OH/St. Thomas Aquinas) scored 96-95 for 191, Andrea Ferriell (Jr., Hartville, OH/Louisville) shot 95-99 for 194 and Stephanie Spitzer (Fr., Akron, OH/Green) shot 103-92 for 195 as an individual.

"Cavs Third, 11 Strokes Back After First Day on Walsh Invitational"

Walsh is 11 strokes back after the first round of the 36-hole Walsh Invitational, being held at the Sanctuary Golf Club in North Canton, Ohio. Walsh shot 360 and trail Tiffin University (349) and Trevecca Nazarene University (349), who are tied for the lead. The final 18 holes will start at 8 am on Tuesday. Christine Haver (Jr., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) shot an 84 to pace the Cavs and is three strokes back of the leader, Kristi Gearhart of Trevecca Nazarene. Tammy Schumacher (So., Whitney Point, NY/HS) fired an 89 and Kaley Foster (Fr., Manchester, OH/HS) shot 92.

"Cavs (10-17) Second at Ohio Dominican Invitational/Schumacher, Foster and Haver Earn
All-Tourney Honors"

Walsh (10-17) finished second in the six-team Ohio Dominican University Invitational in Columbus, Ohio last Friday and Saturday. Seton Hill University won the event. Tammy Schumacher (So., Whitney Point, NY/HS), Kaley Foster (Fr., Manchester, OH/HS) and Christine Haver (Jr., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) were named to the All-Tournament Team. Schumacher led the Cavs and finished with a two-day total of 177 (91-86). Foster shot 179 (93-86) and Haver finished with a 181 (87-94).

Walsh will host a two-day invitational on Monday and Tuesday at the Sanctuary Golf Club in North Canton.

"Cavs Second at Ohio Dominican Invitational"

Walsh (10-17) finished second in the six-team Ohio Dominican University Invitational in Columbus, Ohio today. Seton Hill University won the event. Tammy Schumacher (So., Whitney Point, NY/HS) led the Cavs with a two-day toal of 177 (91-86). Kaley Foster (Fr., Manchester, OH/HS) finished with a 179 and Christine Haver (Jr., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) shot 181.

Walsh will host a two-day invitational on Monday and Tuesday at the Sanctuary Golf Club in North Canton.

"Cavs (6-16) Second at Urbana Blue Knight Invitational/Shoot All-Time Low Round at YSU"

Walsh (6-16) played twice last week and played well both times. The Cavs finished eight at Youngstown State and second at Urbana. They are idle this week.

The Cavs placed finished eighth at the Youngstown State University Invitational. Bowling Green State University won the event, which featured an extremely strong ten team field. Walsh finished with a two-day total of 672. The Cavs scored 335 today, after shooting 337 yesterday. Their 335 is an all-time low for the Cavs. Christine Haver (Jr., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) fired an 83 today and tied for 30th, with a two-day total of 166 (83-83). Tammy Schumacher (So., Whitney Point, NY/HS) tied for 31st. Schumacher shot 85 today and finished with a two-day total of 167 (82-85). Kaley Foster (Fr., Manchester, OH/HS) tied for 35th with a 169 (83-86). Stephanie Spitzer (Fr., Akron, OH/Green) tied for 41st with a 174 (89-85) and Christina Trbovich (Jr., Canton, OH/McKinley) tied for 47th with a 179 (97-82). Andrea Ferriell (Jr., Hartville, OH/Louisville), playing as an individual, shot 178 (90-88) and tied for 45th.

Andrea Ferriell finished 12th, shooting 100 and Stephanie Spitzer shot 101 and tied for 14th.

The Cavs are back in action on Friday, September 30, when they play in the two-day Ohio Dominican Invitational.

Christine Haver (Jr., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) fired an 84 to pace the Cavs and finish second, two strokes behind Invitational medalist Kelly Rethman of Tiffin. Tammy Schumacher (So., Whitney Point, NY/HS) finished sixth with an 88, Kaley Foster (Fr., Manchester, OH/HS) was seventh with an 89 and Christina Trbovich (Jr., Canton, OH/McKinley) shot a 99 and finished 11th. Andrea Ferriell (Jr., Hartville, OH/Louisville) finished 12th, shooting 100 and Stephanie Spitzer (Fr., Akron, OH/Green) shot 101 and tied for 14th.

"Cavs Finish 8th at YSU Invitational, Score All-Time Low Round"

Walsh (3-15) finished eighth at the Youngstown State University Invitational today. Bowling Green State University won the event, which featured an extremely strong ten team field. Walsh finished with a two-day total of 672. The Cavs scored 335 today, after shooting 337 yesterday. Their 335 is an all-time low for the Cavs. Walsh plays at the Urbana University Inivitational on Friday.

Christine Haver (Jr., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) fired an 83 today and tied for 30th, with a two-day total of 166 (83-83). Tammy Schumacher (So., Whitney Point, NY/HS) tied for 31st. Schumacher shot 85 today and finished with a two-day total of 167 (82-85). Kaley Foster (Fr., Manchester, OH/HS) tied for 35th with a 169 (83-86). Stephanie Spitzer (Fr., Akron, OH/Green) tied for 41st with a 174 (89-85) and Christina Trbovich (Jr., Canton, OH/McKinley) tied for 47th with a 179 (97-82). Andrea Ferriell (Jr., Hartville, OH/Louisville), playing as an individual, shot 178 (90-88) and tied for 45th.

"Cavs 8th After First Round at Youngstown State Invitational"

Walsh stands seventh after the first round of the Youngstown State Invitational. The final 18 holes will be played tomorrow and will start at Avalon South Golf Course at 9 am. The Cavs totaled 337 and are 34 strokes behind the leader, Bowling Green State University (302). Walsh is only three shots behind sixth place Cleveland State University (334).

Tammy Schumacher (So., Whitney Point, NY/HS) tied for 26th and paced the Cavs with an 82. Christine Haver (Jr., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) and Kaley Foster (Fr., Manchester, OH/HS) tied for 32nd after shooting 83. Stephanie Spitzer (Fr., Akron, OH/Green) tied for 42nd with an 89 and Christina Trbovich (Jr., Canton, OH/McKinley) tied for 54th with a 97. Andrea Ferriell (Jr., Hartville, OH/Louisville), playing as an individual, shot 90 and tied for 46th.

"Cavs Open Season With a 9th Place Finish at Robert Morris Invitational"

Walsh finished 9th at the Robert Morris Invitational in Chicago, Ill., last Friday. The Cavs totaled 358. Bethel (IN) won the event with a 328. Tammy Schumacher (So., Whitney Point, NY/HS) tied for 16th and paced the Cavs with an 85. Christine Haver (Jr., Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) tied for 25th with an 88. Andrea Ferriell (Jr., Hartville, OH/Louisville) and Kelsey Saleet (Jr., Canton, OH/McKinley) tied for 41st shooting 90. Kaley Foster (Fr., Manchester, OH/HS) tied for 53rd with a 94, Stephanie Spitzer (Fr., Akron, OH/Green) finished 60th with a 99 and Meghan DeFrancesco (So., Canton, OH/St. Thomas Aquinas) tied for 61st with a 101. The Cavs are idle this week.
