"Cavs (22-25) Fifth at AMC/Region IX Championships"

Walsh (22-25) finished fifth at the AMC/Region IX Championships, held at Apple Valley Golf Course last weekend. Walsh finished with a 72-hole score of 917, 19 strokes back of champion Malone College. The Cavs began the day in fourth place, five strokes back of Tiffin. David Rose (Sr., Marietta, OH/HS) shot a final round 74 and finished with a 221 and was named to the All-AMC and Region IX Team.

Senior Alan Dattilio (Sr., Salem, OH/West Branch) was named to the AMC's Scholar-Athlete Team. He carries a 3.66 grade point average and is a management major.

David Rose (Sr., Marietta, OH/HS) led the Cavs with a 76.3 average. Chad Coombes (Sr., Medina, OH/Buckeye) averaged 78.6, Mike DiFabbio (Sr., Steubenville, OH/Central Catholic) 79.9, Mike Lenartowicz (Jr., Canton, OH/Perry) 79.5 and Kevin Tournoux (Jr., Lakewood, OH/HS) 81.5. Dattilo averaged 79.1.

"Cavs Finish 5th at AMC/Region IX Tournament, Rose All-AMC, All-Region/Dattilo Scholar-Athlete"

(Howard, OH) Walsh (22-25) finished fifth at the AMC/Region IX Championships, held at Apple Valley Golf Course In Howard, Ohio today. "Cavs In Hunt After 27 Holes at AMC/Region IX Tournament"

(Howard, OH) Walsh is only five strokes back of the leader, and in fourth place after the first 27 holes of play at the AMC/Region IX Championshps, held at Apple Valley Golf Course in Howard, Ohio. The Cavs shot 454, and trail Tiffin University, who shot 449. Cedarville is in second place at 450 and Malone third place at 451. The final round is on Friday, with the Cavs teeing off at 8:42 am.

David Rose (Sr., Marietta, OH/HS) shot a 73 and a 37 (110), and is just three strokes back of the tournament leader. Chad Coombes (Sr., Medina, OH/Buckeye) shot 114 (77-37), as did Mike Lenartowicz (Jr., Canton, OH/Perry) (77-37). Alan Dattilio (Sr., Salem, OH/West Branch) shot 77-39 (116) and Mike DiFabbio (Sr., Steubenville, OH/Central Catholic) 81-41 (122).

"Cavs (15-20) at AMC/Region IX Championships this Week"

Walsh (15-20) will play in the American Mideast Conference/NAIA Region IX Tournament, held this Thursday and Friday at Apple Valley Golf Course in Howard, Ohio. The winner advances to the 56th annual NAIA Championships, May 22-25 in Plymouth, Indiana. Walsh won its last AMC title in 2002 and made its last national tournament appearance in 2002.

Heading into this week's play, David Rose (Sr., Marietta, OH/HS) leads the Cavs with a 77.4 average. Chad Coombes (Sr., Medina, OH/Buckeye) is at 79.3, Mike DiFabbio (Sr., Steubenville, OH/Central Catholic) 80.1, Mike Lenartowicz (Jr., Canton, OH/Perry) 80.1 and Kevin Tournoux (Jr., Lakewood, OH/HS) 80.5.

Rose paced the Cavs last week with a 72 in the final round at Cedarville, while Lenartowicz had an 81 at Notre Dame.

"Cavs Third at Notre Dame Invitational"

(Cleveland, OH) Walsh (15-20) finished third at the rainy Notre Dame College Invitational today. The Cavs shot 336, and finished 19 strokes behind tournament champion Malone College (317).

Mike Lenartowicz (Jr., Canton, OH/Perry) finished 9th, and paced the Cavs with an 81. Jesse Green (So., Sugarcreek, OH/Garaway) shot 84, Kevin Tournoux (Jr., Lakewood, OH/HS) 85, Alan Dattilio (Sr., Salem, OH/West Branch) 86 and Nick Gallo (So., Wickliffe, OH/HS) 108.

"Cavs Tie for Third at Cedarville Invitational"

(Cedarville, OH) Walsh (13-18) finished tied for third place, with Mount Vernon Nazarene University, at the 36-hole Cedarville University Golf Invitational. The Cavs finished with a two-day total of 620 (311-309), 27 strokes back of team champion Cedarville (593).

Chad Coombes (Sr., Medina, OH/Buckeye) paced the Cavs with a 155 (77-78), and a 12th place finish. David Rose (Sr., Marietta, OH/HS) (84-72=156) finished tied for 13th place, with teammate Mike Lenartowicz (Jr., Canton, OH/Perry) (81-75=156). Rose's 72 was the fourth lowest round of the final day. David Russell (Sr., Glasgow, Scotland/Cumbernauld), who carded a 73 Monday, shot a final round 85, and finished with a 158. Mike DiFabbio (Sr., Steubenville, OH/Central Catholic) finished with a 164 (80-84).

"Cavs Three Strokes Behind Leader After First Round at Cedarville/Russell Three Shots off the Lead"

(Cedarville, OH) Walsh is in third place, just three strokes behind host Cedarville University, after the first day of the 36-hole Cedarville Invitational, held at the Beavercreek Golf Club. The final round will be played at the Country Club of the North on Tuesday. Cedarville leads the eight-team field after shooting an opening round 308. Ohio Dominican University is two strokes back at 312, followed by the Cavs at 313. David Russell (Sr., Glasgow, Scotland/Cumbernauld) carded a 73, and is three strokes back of Urbana University's Sean Pramuk, who fired an opening round 70.

Chad Coombes (Sr., Medina, OH/Buckeye) is in ninth place after an opening round 77. Mike DiFabbio (Sr., Steubenville, OH/Central Catholic) scored 80, Mike Lenartowicz (Jr., Canton, OH/Perry) 81 and David Rose (Sr., Marietta, OH/HS) 84.

"Cavs 9th at Malone Invitational"

Walsh (9-15) finished 9th at the 36-hole Malone College Invitational, held at Tannenhauf Golf Course in Alliance. The Cavs finished with a two-day total of 622. Malone College won the event with a score of 588.

David Rose (Sr., Marietta, OH/HS) paced the Cavs with a 153 (77-76). Mike DiFabbio (Sr., Steubenville, OH/Central Catholic) was next with a 154 (79-75). Chad Coombes (Sr., Medina, OH/Buckeye) shot 157 (79-78), Mike Lenartowicz (Jr., Canton, OH/Perry) 158 (79-79) and Kevin Tournoux (Jr., Lakewood, OH/HS) 158 (79-79). The Cavs "B" Team shot 623 and was led by Alan Dattilio (Sr., Salem, OH/West Branch), who shot 151 (74-77). David Russell (Sr., Glasgow, Scotland/Cumbernauld) shot 156 (77-79), Jesse Green (So., Sugarcreek, OH/Garaway) 159 (78-81), Pat Moro (So., Warren, OH/JFK) 163 (88-75), and Sam Troyer (So., Sugarcreek, OH/Garaway) 163 (84-79).

"Cavs Finish 6th at Mount Vernon"

(Mt. Vernon, OH) Walsh (8-7) finished sixth at the 36-hole Mount Vernon Nazarene Invitational, held at Apple Valley Golf Course. Walsh shot 317 each round and finished with a two-day total of 634. Cedarville University won the event with a 610.

David Rose (Sr., Marietta, OH/HS) and Chad Coombes (Sr., Medina, OH/Buckeye) each shot 156. Rose shot 74-82 and Coombes 84-72. Mike DiFabbio (Sr., Steubenville, OH/Central Catholic) finished with a 159 (80-79), Mike Lenartowicz (Jr., Canton, OH/Perry) 171 (87-84), Mike DiFabbio (Sr., Steubenville, OH/Central Catholic) 159 (80-79), and Kevin Tournoux (Jr., Lakewood, OH/HS) 164 (79-85).

"Cavs Second at Invitational"

Walsh (4-2) finished second at their own invitational yesterday at Raintree Country Club. The invitational was just a one day event due to poor weather conditions on Monday. Walsh shot a 317 and finished 13 strokes behind Malone College (317). Mount Vernon Nazarene and Roberts Wesleayn tied for fourth place (320), Urbana finished fifth (338) and Notre Dame sixth (347).

David Rose (Sr., Marietta, OH/HS) paced the Cavs with a 77. Kevin Tournoux (Jr., Lakewood, OH/HS) and Mike Lenartowicz (Jr., Canton, OH/Perry) each shot 78. Mike DiFabbio (Sr., Steubenville, OH/Central Catholic) shot 84 and Chad Coombes (Sr., Medina, OH/Buckeye) 84.

Sam Troyer (So., Sugarcreek, OH/Garaway) paced Walsh's B Team with a 78. Alan Dattilio (Sr., Salem, OH/West Branch) fired a 81. Jesse Green (So., Sugarcreek, OH/Garaway) 87, Pat Moro (So., Warren, OH/JFK) 92 and David Russell (Sr., Glasgow, Scotland/Cumbernauld) 94. On the Cavs' C Team. Justin Lenox (So., Canton, OH/Perry) led with an 87. Chris Evans (So., Brampton, ONT/Notre Dame) shot 90, Nick Gallo (So, Wickliffe, OH/HS) 91, Tom Eich (Fr., Youngstown, OH/Cardinal Mooney) 95 and Dominic Reolfo (Fr., North Canton, OH/Hoover) 96.

"Cavs Finish 6th at Malone College Fall Classic"

Walsh shot a final round 296 and finished sixth with a team score of 586 at the Malone College Fall Classic. The Cavs were third after Friday's first round. Malone won the classic with a 570. Sam Troyer (So., Sugarcreek, OH/Garaway) shot a final round 73 and finished with a two-day total of 143 and made the All-Tournament Team. Kevin Tournoux (Jr., Lakewood, OH/HS) fired a 71 and finished at 145. David Rose (Sr., Marietta, OH/HS) also shot a 71 on Saturday and finished at 146. Chad Coombes (Sr., Medina, OH/Buckeye) shot 75 and finished 152 and Jesse Green (So., Sugarcreek, OH/Garaway) shot 81 and finished at 174. Walsh's "B" Team shot a two-day total of 611 (304-311) and finished sixth. Michael DiFabbio (Sr., Steubenville, OH/Central Catholic) shot 146 (72-76), Mike Lenartowicz (Jr., Canton, OH/Perry) 150 (75-75), David Russell (Sr., Glasgow, Scotland/Cumbernauld) 154 (76-78) and Alan Dattilio (Sr., Salem, OH/West Branch) 159 (81-78).

"Cavs Third After First Round at Malone Fall Classic"

Walsh is in third place after the opening round of the Malone College Fall Classic, held in Alliance at Tannenhauf Golf Course. The Cavs "A" Team shot 296. Sam Troyer (So., Sugarcreek, OH/Garaway) paced the "A" team with an opening round 70. Kevin Tournoux (Jr., Lakewood, OH/HS) was next with a 74. David Rose (Sr., Marietta, OH/HS) shot 75, Chad Coombes (Sr., Medina, OH/Buckeye) 77 and Jesse Green (So., Sugarcreek, OH/Garaway) 93. Walsh's "B" Team is sixth, after a first round 304. Michael DiFabbio (Sr., Steubenville, OH/Central Catholic) led the "B" squad with a 72. Mike Lenartowicz (Jr., Canton, OH/Perry) fired a 75, David Russell (Sr., Glasgow, Scotland/Cumbernauld) 76 and Alan Dattilio (Sr., Salem, OH/West Branch) 81. The final 18 holes will be played on Saturday.
