"Cavs Finish Fourth at AMC/NAIA Region IX Tournament"

(Mount Vernon, OH) Walsh (38-9-2) finished fourth at the NAIA Region IX Championships, held at Apple Valley Golf Course in Mount Vernon, Ohio. The Cavs shot 932 and finished 47 strokes behind Malone College (885). Ohio Domincan (907) finished second and Tiffin University third (925). Chris Sigler (Sr., Wooster, OH/Triway) finished 17th with a two-day total of 233. David Brodie (Jr., Newton Stewart, Scotland/Douglas Ewart) right behind Sigler with a 234. David Russell (Jr., Glasgow, Scotland/Cumbernauld) finished 27th (236) and David Rose (Jr., Marietta, OH/HS) 28th (236).

"Cavs (29-6-1) Rally from 10 Strokes Back to Win at Cedarville/Finish 5th at Malone"

Walsh (29-6-1) rallied from ten strokes back, after the first day, to capture the Cedarville University Invitational by seven strokes over second place Ohio Dominican University (624). The Cavs shot a second round 298, to finish with a two-day 36-hole total of 617. Chris Sigler (Sr., Wooster, OH/Triway) was named to the All-Tournament Team after shooting 154 (79-75=154). Kevin Tournoux (So., Lakewood, OH/HS) paced the Cavs with a final round 72.

Walsh's "B" captured the five-team Notre Dame College Invitational on Wednesday. The Cavs won the event on the tournament tie-breaker. Walsh finished tied with Tiffin University at 319, but had the best scores on the back nine, with their top four players to earn the win. Chad Coombes (Jr., Medina, OH/Buckeye) and Sam Troyer (Fr., Sugarcreek, OH/Garaway) each shot 77 to finish tied for third place.

Walsh will be at the American Mideast Conference/Region IX Championships, beginning Thursday at the Apple Valley Golf Course in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. The 72-hole tournament concludes on Saturday.

"Cavs 5th at Malone Invitational"

Walsh (29-6-2) finished fifth at the nine-team Malone Invitational. After an opening round 310, the Cavs shot 293 on the final day to finish at 310. Malone College won with a 577. David Rose (Jr., Marietta, OH/HS) led the Cavs "A" team with a 144 (72-72) and finished sixth. Sam Troyer (Fr., Sugarcreek, OH/Garaway) paced the "B" team with a 152 (76-76) and Jesse Green (Fr., Sugarcreek, OH/Garaway) shot 154 (74-80) as an individual. The Cavs "B" Team finished 10th.

"Cavs In Clubhouse With 310 at Malone Invitational"

Walsh shot an opening round 310 at the Malone College Invitational today at Tannenhauf Golf Course. Malone is the leader in the clubhouse with a 287. David Rose (Jr., Marietta, OH/HS) led the Cavs "A" team with a 72. Sam Troyer (Fr., Sugardcreek, OH/Garaway) paced the "B" team with a 76 and Jesse Green (Fr., Sugardcreek, OH/Garaway) fired a 74 as an individual. The final round will be play tomorrow.

"Cavs "B" Team Wins Notre Dame Invitational on Tie-Breaker"

(South Euclid, OH) Walsh's "B" captured the five-team Notre Dame College Invitational today. The Cavs won the event on the tournament tie-breaker. Walsh finished tied with Tiffin University at 319, but had the best scores on the back nine, with their top four players to earn the win. Chad Coombes (Jr., Medina, OH/Buckeye) and Sam Troyer (Fr., Sugarcreek, OH/Garaway) each shot 77 to finish tied for third place.

"Cavs Rally to Capture Cedarville University Invitational/Sigler Makes All-Tournament Team"

Walsh (25-2-1) rallied from ten strokes back, after the first day, to capture the Cedarville University Invitational by seven strokes over second place Ohio Dominican University (624). The Cavs shot a second round 298, to finish with a two-day 36-hole total of 617. Chris Sigler (Sr., Wooster, OH/Triway) was named to the All-Tournament Team after shooting 154 (79-75=154). Kevin Tournoux (So., Lakewood, OH/HS) paced the Cavs today with a final round 72. The Cavs are at Malone this Friday and Saturday.

"Cavs Shoot Opening Round 319 at Cedarville"

(Cedarville, OH) Walsh (17-2-1) shot an opening round 319 at the Cedarville Invitational today. The host Yellow Jackets are the leader in the clubhouse with a 309. Chris Sigler (Sr., Wooster, OH/Triway) paced the Cavs with a 79.

"Cavs (17-2-1) Win Home Invitational/Place Third at Mount Vernon"

Walsh (17-2-1) won its own invitational and finished third at Mount Vernon Nazarene last week. They play at Cedarville University (Beaver Creek Country Club of the North) on Monday and Tuesday and at Malone College (Tannenhauf GC) on Friday and Saturday.

David Rose (Jr., Marietta, OH/HS) captured medalist honors and Walsh won by 22 strokes at their own invitational, held at Prestwick Country Club on Monday and at Raintree Golf Course. Rose shot a 67 on Monday and a 76 on Tuesday, to finish with a 36-hole total of 143. Walsh's David Brodie (Jr., Newton Stewart, Scotland/Douglas Ewart) (75-77) finished at 152, nine strokes back of Rose. Walsh fired a final round 308 to finish with a two-day total of 604.

Walsh faltered in the final round of the Mt. Vernon Nazarene Cougar Invitational and finished tied for third, behind tournament winner Malone College (590) and second place Tiffin University (595). Walsh led by five strokes after the first day, but shot a final round 306, to finish tied with Cedarville University (598). David Rose shot a final round 75 and was the only Cavalier to make the All-Tournament team. He shot an opening round 69 and finished with a 144. Chris Sigler (Sr., Wooster, OH/Triway) fired an opening round 68 and finished at 146 after a second round 78.

David Rose leads the team with a 75.0 average. Chris Sigler is averaging 75.2 and David Brodie 76.7.

"Cavs Finish Tied for Third at Mt. Vernon/Rose on All-Tourney Team"

(Mt. Vernon, OH) Walsh (17-2-1) faltered in the final round of the Mt. Vernon Nazarene Cougar Invitational and finished tied for third, behind tournament winner Malone College (590) and second place Tiffin University (595). Walsh led by five strokes after the first day, but shot a final round 306, to finish tied with Cedarville University (598). David Rose (Jr. Marietta, OH/HS) shot a final round 75 and was the only Cavalier to make the All-Tournament team.

"Cavs Lead by Five Strokes After First Day at Mt. Vernon/Sigler Leads Pack With a 68, Rose Fires 69"

(Mt. Vernon, OH) Walsh leads the nine-team field at the Mt. Vernon Nazarene Cougar Invitational by five strokes, after the first 18 holes today. The Cavs shot 291. Tiffin University shot 296 nad Cedarville University 300. The final 18 holes are scheduled for Saturday morning at Apple Valley Golf Course. Chris Sigler (Sr., Wooster, OH/Triway) fired an opening round 68 and leads teammate David Rose (Jr. Marietta, OH/HS) by one-stroke. Earlier in the week, Rose fired a 67 on the first day of the Walsh Invitational.

"Cavs Capture Own Invitational by 22 Strokes/Rose Medalist"

David Rose (Jr., Marietta, OH/HS) captured medalist honors and Walsh (12-0) won by 22 strokes at their own invitational, held at Prestiwck Country Club on Monday and at Raintree Golf Course today. Rose shot a 67 yesterday and a 76 today, to finish with a 36-hole total of 143. Walsh's David Brodie (Jr., Newton Stewart, Scotland/Douglas Ewart) (75-77), Malone's Jordan Grubby (75-77) and Urbana's Sean Pranuk (74-78) all finished at 152, nine strokes back of Rose. Walsh fired a 308 today to finish with a two-day total of 604.

"Walsh Leads Invitational By Eight Strokes/Rose Fires 67"

David Rose (Jr., Marietta, OH/HS) fired an opening round 67 at the first round of the Walsh Invitational, held at Prestiwck Country Club today. The second and final round will be begin Tuesday morning at Raintree Golf Course. Walsh shot a team score of 296 and leads second place Malone College (308) by eight strokes. Walsh's "B" Team is third with a 313 and Urbana University is fourth (318).

"Cavs Win Urbana Blue Knight's Invitational/Sigler Medalist"

Walsh (7-0) shot a final round 317 (320-317=637), to win the Urbana University Blue Knights Invitational by five strokers over the host school. Mount Vernon Nazarene finished third, 14 strokes back. Chris Sigler (Sr., Wooster, OH/Triway) (79-74+153) finished as tournament medalist, shooting a final round 74. David Brodie (Jr., Newton Stewart, Scotland/Douglas Ewart) finished sixth with a 158 (83-75). David Rose (Jr., Marietta, OH/HS) (78-85=163) finished 14th, Sam Troyer (Fr., Sugarcreek, OH/Garaway) 20th (80-87=167) and Mike Lenartowicz (So., Canton, OH/Perry) 29th (91-83=174).

The Cavs host the Walsh Inviational at Prestwick Country Club on Monday and at Raintree Golf Course on Tuesday.

"Cavs Lead Urbana by Two Strokes After First Round of Blue Knight Inivational"

Walsh leads Urbana University by two strokes after the first day of the 36-hole Blue Knight Invitational. The Cavs shot a team score of 320 and lead Urbana (322) and Mount Vernon Nazarene (333). The final round is scheduled for Sunday. David Rose (Jr., Marietta, OH/HS) is second, after firing a first round 78. Chris Sigler (Sr., Wooster, OH/Triway) is fifth after shooting 79 and Sam Troyer (Fr., Sugarcreek, OH/Garaway) is seventh with an 80. David Brodie (Jr., Newton Stewart, Scotland/Douglas Ewart) shot 83 and Mike Lenartowicz (So., Canton, OH/Perry) 91. Walsh's first group tees off at 10:38 Sunday morning, with the final group at 11 am.

"Walsh Win's Malone Invitational"

Walsh has captured the Malone College Fall Invitational, defeating the host team by two strokes. The Cavaliers shot 587 for the two-day affair, while the Pionners posted 589. The University of Mobile was third (590). David Rose (Jr., Marietta, OH/HS) made the all-tournament team. Rose tied for 4th, after shooting a two-over par 74 in the final round for a two-day total of 144. He fired a 70 on Friday. David Brodie (Jr., Newton Stewart, Scotland/Douglas Ewart) tied for 7th (71-75+146), Mike Lenartowicz (So., Canton, OH/Perry) tied for 10th (71-77+148) and Chris Sigler (Sr., Wooster, OH/Triway) and Kevin Tournoux (So., Lakewood, OH/HS) tied for 20th (77-75+152).
