LeFever 166th at NAIA Championships/Lindsay Cooper Earns NAIA Scholar-Athlete Honors

Walsh's Kristen LeFever (So., Alliance, OH/Marlington) finished 166th, out of 268 runners, at the 28th Annual Women's NAIA Cross Country National Championships held Saturday at Dr. Wayne E. Dannehl Cross Country Course in Kenosha, Wisconsin last Saturday. LeFever, making her first appearance in the championships, finished in a time of 19:45.3.

Lindsay Cooper (Sr., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) earned NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athlete recognition. Cooper, an accounting major, carries a 3.84 grade point average.

"LeFever 166th at NAIA Championships"

(Kenosha, WI) Walsh's Kristen LeFever (So., Alliance, OH/Marlington) finished 166th, out of 268 runners, at the 28th Annual Women's NAIA Cross Country National Championships held today at Dr. Wayne E. "2007 NAIA Cross Country National Championship Qualifiers Announced, LeFever Qualify"

(Kansas City, Mo.) The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the qualifiers for the 28th Annual Women's NAIA Cross Country National Championship. The race will be held at Dr. Wayne E. Dannehl Cross Country Course in Kenosha, Wisconsin on Saturday, November 17, 2007. The women's starts at 11:45 a.m. (CST).

Women's 5K race will welcome 29 teams (14 region champions and 15 at-large bids) and 67 individual qualifiers. Walsh's Kristen LeFever (So., Alliance, OH/Marlington) earned third team All-AMC/Region IX honors and an at-large individual berth with her 19th place finish (19:11.25).

Kenosha, the nation's only pure cross country courses with its long-standing history as a community that embraces the sport, has hosted 26 NAIA National Championship Cross Country events from 1976 to 1979 and 1981 to 2002.

"Cavs Finish 5th at AMC/NAIA Region IX Championships, LeFever Awaits Berth"

COMPLETE RESULTS

Walsh (37-28) placed a strong fifth (133), at the American Mideast Conference/NAIA Region IX Championships, held on campus today. Cedarville University (25) won the race going away, with Malone College second (40), Houghton College third (114) and Shawnee State fourth (125). Cedarville earns the automatic berth to the 28th annual championships, held in Kenosha, Wisconsin on November 17.

Walsh's Kristen LeFever (So., Alliance, OH/Marlington) earned third team All-AMC/Region IX honors and a possible at-large individual berth with her 19th place finish (19:11.25). Individual at-large berths will be announced on Tuesday. Andrea DiNinno (Jr., Harrison City, PA/Greensburg CC) also earned third team All-AMC/Region IX honors; with her 20th place finish (19:21.45). Megan Case (Fr., Louisville, OH/HS) finished 25th (19:54.90), Lindsay Cooper (Sr., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) 34th (20:30.50) and Jen Birney (Fr., Dover, OH/HS) 35th (20:31.40).

"Cavs to Also Host AMC/NAIA IX Championships"

Walsh's (30-24) women will also host the American Mideast Conference Championships this Saturday, with the winner advancing to the 28th annual NAIA Championships in Kenosha, Wisconsin on Saturday, November 17. The Cavs were idle tlast week.

Walsh finished sixth at the conference meet last year. Cedarville University has won the last two AMC titles and is ranked fourth in the NAIA. Malone College is ranked ninth. The meet is scheduled to start at 10:30 am. There is no charge for admission.

"Cavs Strong in Winning AMC Preview Meet/LeFever Wins Race"

Walsh (30-24) ran away with the American Mideast Conference Preview Meet today, defeating Ursuline College (2nd-49 pts.), Notre Dame College (3rd-60 pts.) and Point Park University (4th-112 pts.). Walsh who captured six of the top ten places, will host the AMC Championships in two weeks (11/3).

Kristen LeFever (So., Alliance, OH/Marlington) led the Cavs, winning the race in a time of 19:36. Andrea DiNinno (Jr., Harrison City, PA/Greensburg CC) was second (19:52), Megan Case (Fr., Louisville, OH/HS) fourth (20:12), Jackie Delameter (Fr., North Canton, OH/Hoover) seventh (20:45) and Lindsay Cooper (Sr., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) eighth (20:59).

"Cavs 9th at UW-Parkside Invitational"

Walsh (27-24) finished 9th at the University Wisconsin-Parkside Lucian Rosa Cross Country Invitational today. The host school won the event over Indiana Wesleyan.

Kristen LeFever (So., Alliance, OH/Marlington) led the Cavs, finishing 30th (19:58). Andrea DiNinno (Jr., Harrison City, PA/Greensburg CC) was next, placing 34th (20:01). Megan Case (Fr., Louisville, OH/HS) finished 51st (20:34), Jen Birney (Fr., Dover, OH/HS) 58th (20:56) and Lindsay Cooper (Sr., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) 61st (21:06).

Jackie Delameter (Fr., North Canton, OH/Hoover) placed 62 (21:09) and Terry Simonic (Jr., Cleveland, OH/Regina) 69th (21:34).

"Cavs 6th at All-Ohio Championships"

(Delaware, OH) Walsh (27-21) finished sixth at the All-Ohio Championships at Ohio Wesleyan University today. Cedarville University won the NAIA/D-ll portion of the championships for the second consecutive year.

Andrea DiNinno (Jr., Harrison City, PA/Greensburg CC) led Walsh with a 25th place finish in a time of 21:39.1. Megan Case (Fr., Louisville, OH/HS) was next finishing 33rd (22:16.1), Lindsay Cooper (Sr., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) placed 37th (23:01), Kristen LeFever (So., Alliance, OH/Marlington) 40th (23:09.6), Jackie Delameter (Fr., North Canton, OH/Hoover) 47th ((23:46.6), Jen Birney (Fr., Dover, OH/HS) 52nd (24:47.4) and Erin Koppel (Jr., McDonald, OH/HS) 56th (25:11.6).

"Cavs Fifth at Wooster"

Walsh (22-16) placed fifth at the College of Wooster Invitational today. For the second straight week, Kristen LeFever (So., Alliance, OH/Marlington) paced the Cavs with a 16th place finish in a time of 20:49. Andrea DiNinno (Jr., Harrison City, PA/Greensburg CC) was next, placing 22nd in a time of 21:16. Megan Case (Fr., Louisville, OH/HS) was 24th (21:25), Jackie Delameter (Fr., North Canton, OH/Hoover) 42nd (22:29), Terry Simonic (Jr., Cleveland, OH/Regina) 53rd (22:45) and Jen Birney (Fr., Dover, OH/HS) 57th (23:08)

"Cavs 11th at National Catholic Meet"

(South Bend, IN) Walsh (18-11) placed a very respectable 11th at the National Catholic Cross Country Championships, held in South Bend, IN today. Kristen LeFever (So., Alliance, OH/Marlington) paced the Cavs, finishing 28th in a time of 19:47. Andrea DiNinno (Jr., Harrison City, PA/Greensburg CC) was next, placing 36th (19:54). Jackie Delameter (Fr., North Canton, OH/Hoover) was 58th (20:18), Megan Case (Fr., Louisville, OH/HS) 11th (21:06) 101st (20:59) and Lindsay Cooper (Sr., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) 108th (21:05).

"Cavs Second in PRE AMC Meet"

Walsh finished a strong second in the PRE AMC Meet held on campus today. John Carroll University won the event (39). Walsh (51) came in second, Shawnee State University (67) was third, Ursuline College fourth (95) and Notre Dame College (110) fifth.

Next Friday, the Cavs will travel to South Bend, IN for the National Catholic Cross Country Championships. Walsh finished eighth last year.

Andrea DiNinno (Jr., Harrison City, PA/Greensburg CC) paced the Cavs with a 6th place finish in a time of 20:21. Kristen LeFever (So., Alliance, OH/Marlington) was next, placing seventh (20:34). Jackie Delameter (Fr., North Canton, OH/Hoover) was ninth (20:55), Megan Case (Fr., Louisville, OH/HS) 11th (21:06) and Lindsay Cooper (Sr., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) 18th (21:41).

"Cavs Open Season at Home With AMC Preview Meet"

Walsh's women's cross country team opens the season on Saturday at home, as they host the American Mideast Conference Preview Meet. The women's race begins at 10 am and the men's race at 10:45 am. This is the first of two AMC Previews, as Walsh will also host the AMC/Region IX Championships on Saturday, November 3.

The Cavs return 10 letter winners for Head Coach Al Campbell. The women finished 46-29 last season.
